What's preventing you from re-doing the GMAT? Whats your quant and verbal scores?

Can you tell me more about your profile? Are you from an over-represented group (country & WE)?

This. Context really matters. If your verbal is weak but English is not your first language, that may help not raise quite such a big red flag. On the flipside, if your quant is weak but you have a very quant-intensive undergrad degree then it also might not be such a big deal.

With all that said, considering we are in May, there is definitely time to retake the GMAT, and I really suggest you do.

Hi All,

I would appreciate some feedback. I scored 650 on GMAT and was wondering what are my chances, or if anybody else were able to get in to HAAS with such or similar score.

My GPA is 3.4 and I have over 50 months of work experience.

Would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks

Honestly I think the chances are very slim at Haas with this GMAT score. Top schools, Haas included, still look at GMAT. Even if your score falls into the average 80%, I would still advise you to retake the GMAT to max out your chances. Plus, when I visited Haas, the adcom was very specific about GMAT score being top 80% in both verbal and quant (which make up to about 700).

Hope that helps.

Hi My Quant is at 48 - 74% percentile and Verbal at 31 - 61% percentile. I'm from U.S., but English is my second language.

Thanks everybody!

Educated in the US, I feel like a V31 has significant room for improvement and even a modest increase could vault you to a 700. Focus on Sentence Correction, and everything else will fall in place. High Accuracy + Speed in Sentence Correction should be the focus.

Hi There -

I also have a 650 and was wondering my chances at Haas. I have 3.6 GPA and 3 years (36 months) of experience in the field I am passionate about. I am re-taking on Friday but I'm nervous nothing will change bc my practice tests are so inconsistent.

If you cannot improve on GMAT, there are other ways to handle the applications...
but the quickest way is to get the GMAT right...

Other ways means increasing the number of years of "Quality" experience and leadership activities .. if you don't have them already, then this will require years to achieve compared to a dedicated few months of GMAT study and rewriting... .people have written GMAT 3 times... so give it a shot!

A good work experience is a must for a post-MBA job..
