Hi BB,

Hopefully a tag "GMAT Prep Exampack 2" will be added to forums to add/search and discuss questions ?

Hi experts,

Could you tell me how many questions are there in the pool of this Exam Pack 2 (Quant and Verbal)?

I read the descriptions of Exam pack 1 and pack 2 on mba.com and both say that "two never-before-seen, full-length exams featuring 90 real GMAT questions" (I guess 90 means 12 IR, 37 Q, and 41 V for each full test). The description of the 2 free exams in GMATPrep, however, does not mention about the "90 questions" thing. I did use the GMAT Pack 1 and retake each exam 2 times. I noticed some new questions each retake, so there must be more than 156 ((37+41)*2) Quant and Verbal questions in the pool. So I wonder if anyone tried to exhaust the question pool of Exam Pack 1 to see how many questions are there?

I did exhaust the Exam Pack 1 questions and I found there to be 197 quant questions combined in the two tests(Exam 3 and Exam 4) that are part of Exam Pack 1. I recommend it to all students that the best way to use Exam Pack 1 is to take Exam 3 once and then Exam 4 once. After that if you were to retake either Exam 3 or Exam 4, there will be a significant overlap because of the smaller pool of questions in Exam Pack 1. That is why my recommendation to students is to just take each exam once and move on.

I am anticipating Exam Pack 2 to follow the same trend. That means my guess would be 470 total questions in Exam Pack 2 including quant, verbal, and IR. I will update the thread once I do my review for Exam Pack 2.

Cheers,
Dabral

Thanks so much Dabral for the details.

My exam is about 3 weeks to go, and yes I only intend to take each exam once. But what I concern is that if the there are only 156 Q and V questions for 2 exams in the question pool, then how could the software grade accurately testers' performance based on such small range of question. Also, when I retake exams in Exam Pack 1 and reached 44-45-level in Verbal section, I saw one repeated CR question (one in the beginning and one in the end).

According to your statistics, I think my concern could be relieved, at least if my Verbal level is just at 35 to 40, where the range of question's difficulty is somewhat evenly divided from 500 to 700.

Also, I wonder there is any discounted coupon for the Exam Pack 2 (not the bundle) :).

Usually the code "MBACHAT" or "MBA CHAT" works for 5% off the total purchase. It did last year.

GMAC has updated mba.com with additional reinstatement information (finally):

Quote:
Extended Score Cancellation

Under the extended score cancellation policy, candidates will be able to cancel their scores online for a $25 fee. The online cancellation will be available up to 72 hours after completing the exam. Score cancellations done at the test center immediately following the exam will remain free and unchanged.

Extended Score Reinstate
Candidates will also be able to reinstate their cancelled scores online for a reduced $50 fee. Any valid GMAT exam taken on or after January 1, 2014 will be eligible for reinstatement.

Why can’t I reinstate my score if I took the GMAT prior to January 1, 2014?
Since score reinstatement is a recent new feature, our system does not allow reinstatement of score data captured prior to 2014.

I got the exam pack 2 and did the number 6 test. scored 640 Q49 V28 and I am not happy since I scored 720 on exam pack 1 no 4 test. I found RC very difficult and scored 20.
Has anyone tried it yet and how does it feel like comparing to other exam packs?

I did Exam 5 last Sunday and got 740 (Q50, V40), the highest score for an official test I've ever got. I attribute this to my recent improvement and some (3 I think) SC and CR questions I had faced in GMATPrep Collection. But for RC, I think the difficult level is still the same to others'.

[*] Undergrads. There is a new offer available for students currently enrolled in undergrad institutions at https://www.mba.com/undergrad - they are piloting a program that is more friendly towards undergrad students and encourages them to take the test (with some discounts available to a limited number of test-takers since they don't need to send their scores out yet, and would have to pay for score reports again anyway) [/list]

Is this offer still available? If so, then I cannot find the official link. Can you please shed some light here?

I tried that as well and you are correct - it does not work on the bundle, only the individual products.

Hi tronghieu1987..!!
Gr8t score in your Exam 5, I do wish you will get atleast 740 in your real exam, as GMATPrep exams are almost accurate predictor of real exam score.
Regarding your exam 5, can you please highlight how many you got wrong in Q & V - in ranges such as (1-10), (11-20), (21-30), (31-37)/(31-41).
Thanks & Regards :)

Hi Jack,

Thank you for your wish. I've just come back from the test center for a few hours. I has been so excited with the real score of 760 (Q50 V42) :woohoo . Cannot describe the feeling of defeating this beast.

I am sorry that I reset the test to retake it several days ago and did not capture the screenshot of the question list for Quant section. For Verbal section, the incorrect questions are 6, 11, 16, 17, 19, 25, 27, 30, 37, 39, 40.

Delighted to hear such a gr8t score..and indeed you have defeated this beast. I am still on the other side of the river, yet to beat this beast. Its OK I understand, I too need to retake multiple times those mocks, and thankfully I was looking more into verbal part as there is great variation in my verbal mocks because of position of questions I missed.
Any suggestion you would like to give how you improved from your last GMAT (obviously the verbal part) :P and how many times you have taken those GMATPrep mocks 7 days before sitting for actual exam? I believe taking mocks frequently just before real exam put oneself in better position in time management & overall stress during the real test.
Congrats once again for the awesome score..!! :-D

Thanks & Regards
Jack
