Great news! more official practice problems.
Any plan to add those new exam and questions pack to GMATCLUB premium membership deal?

Yes, we are hoping to as long as they bundle it. I am not sure if we will be able to offer individual Packs.

After, speaking with various admission consultants, most of them suggested me to retake the GMAT to mitigate my low GPA.
So I might take the test again in May.
Since now we can cancel score without the schools knowing, it won't cost me anything. (except the exam fees)

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the info.

1.) By when will they make the pilot program permanent? It will be helpful for non-natives as i do find that it will be helpful and my performance varies when i give my verbal 1st compared to giving it after 2 hours.

2.) I have given 3 attempts in the past from 2012.I am preparing for my next attempt, which is due in april. Last year when i have applied to univ, all score have been reported through score report. But with this new changes can i cancel all my previous scores ( i mean will the univ wont even know about my previous attempts)>?? and share only single score i want to??

Thanks
Sid

great news..
1 - can I cancel my old scores? I really would like to cancel them..
I plan to retake the test, and I do not want to share that I have taken the test so many times...
2 - will the pilot program be active in April/May?

2 additional exams - very nice..especially for me..after I took the tests in thegmat prep several times..

Go online into your account and give it a shot/try.... but I am not sure. Ultimately from this point on, you basically can take the GMAT as much as you wish (within limits that is) and then choose from an array of scores which one you want to send to which school. This seems pretty logical to anyone who is new to the GMAT, but to those who have been used to the 5-year history reporting and all-score reporting this is a whole new world of possibilities.

The implications are substantial - retake strategy is now much simpler. It is all about continuing to try to take the test and improve on your score - can you do better this time than the last time? Since no one will know how many times you have tried for that score, it will definitely encourage retries.

In addition, if the volume of the GMAT goes up, we may see a test fee reduction or at least the price would stay the same for longer. It has been $250/test for the last 15 years at least....

Do you know if the the two new tests that are planning to be added to the GmatPrep be available for free?

I do not know, but I can bet with a 99.5% certainty that they will NOT be free.

Last Thursday GMAT Club had a chance to attend GMAC's webinar about the changes coming to the GMAT Test and it was great to see some new user-friendly features being introduced. I don't believe this was confidential so I am freely sharing the updates with everyone planning to take the GMAT Test soon. This will help you plan and prepare better. The main theme of the webinar was friendliness towards test-takers and making the test more convenient and reduction of anxiety. Here are the changes coming:

  • Exam Pack 2 coming on March 21st! Biggest News - now GMAT Prep will have additional CAT's (my guess is 2 more), which is fantastic to have more real questions to practice with.
  • OG 2017 is coming in May of this year with 130 never before seen questions (we will check that when it comes out)

  • Question Pack 2 is coming in the second half of 2016, another 6 months, but this is great news nevertheless! For those who are just joining us, QP1 was introduced 4 years ago. Definitely time to get some new blood questions... we will work to offer it as a part of the Premium Membership Discount.

  • GMAC also announced that they are removing 60-day window for cancelation reinstatement. (you can now reinstate a test you canceled more than 60 days out - it is not clear if you can reinstate a test you took last summer, but I think it is clear that anything you take going forward will be reinstateable in years to come). This is great! The timing on the slide suggests that this policy has already been revised but I have not seen a confirmation on the site yet.
  • You can now also cancel your test scores up to 72 hours after the test (so you can make your decision after you walk away from the test center. This is great!
  • Choosing your section order is still a pilot and if the results confirm the assumption that changing the sequence of the sections does not have a substantial impact on the test, this feature will be made permanent.

  • They reminded again, that the retake window has been shrunk down to 16 days.

  • Undergrads. There is a new offer available for students currently enrolled in undergrad institutions at https://www.mba.com/undergrad - they are piloting a program that is more friendly towards undergrad students and encourages them to take the test (with some discounts available to a limited number of test-takers since they don't need to send their scores out yet, and would have to pay for score reports again anyway)

Bottom Line:

These are great changes and the introduction of EP2 and QP2 are very welcome news! The other features are just the icing on the cake, taking out the guess work from retakes and reinstating scores. This may likely lead to inflation of scores and multiple retakes, but that's nothing compared to the reduction in stress levels we will all have. GMAC has definitely become much more test-taker friendly organization than I remember them being 10 or even 5 years ago. They appear to be genuine and willing to listen, so if you have any feedback, I encourage you to post it here.

Good Luck out there!
BB.

BB is it possible to cancel within 72 hours and reinstate later if required? Nowhere mentioned about this at official site.
I gave my gmat in sept with 690. on 16th this month i reappeared and scored a mere 700. i m retaking it again n confused, as i think even if i score 700+ adcoms r going to ask me why i took the exam thrice.
Please suggest.
