A national art exhibition features six different types of artwork: Abstract, Baroque, Cubist, Digital, Expressionist, and Folk. These artworks are divided among three galleries: Gallery A, Gallery B, and Gallery C. Each artwork type is displayed in exactly one gallery, and no gallery is empty.

The following rules apply:

 • Exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B.
 • The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C.
 • The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.
 • The Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C.

Select for Gallery A the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery A, and select for Gallery C the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery C, such that the two selections, from among the given options, would be jointly consistent with the information provided. Make only two selections, one in each column.

The correct answer choices are Gallery A = Expressionist Only and Gallery C = Cubist & Folk

To figure out these answers, I listed out three galleries and started assigning the artwork type as I found out more information from the base question or the rules. I also defined that if Gallery B has 3 types, the other two Galleries add up to 3, and we just need to determine if each has 1 or 2. If those sources of information were not enough, I then looked at the answer choices and used each option to determine if that combination was feasible and each artwork type was used in a way that still fulfills the rules.

Gallery A - 1 or 2 types
Gallery B - if this needs Gallery needs 3 artwork types, 3 are leftover between Gallery A and C
Gallery C - 1 or 2 types

Types Breakdown

Folk - this is definitely in Gallery C so let's see which possible answers give us this
Cubist, Folk, and Digital only (this doesn't work because Gallery A + C need 3 types, only one cannot have all 3)
Cubist and Folk only (Possible Answer)
Cubist only (doesn't include Folk, which is a rule)
Baroque and Abstract only (doesn't include Folk, which is a rule)
Expressionist Only (doesn't include Folk, which is a rule)
Folk Only (Possible Answer)

Now that we know Gallery C has one of two answers only, we can determine Gallery A
Cubist and Folk only (Possible Answer - if correct, then Expressionist must be in A or B according to rule 3)
Folk Only (Possible Answer)

Digital Type - when we try to assign this, we see that it is not part of a reasonable answer for Gallery C (i.e. it is not combined with Folk, and it is also not an option as a single or pair for Gallery A, which cannot have 3 types). Therefore we know D is definitely found in Gallery B.

Baroque & Abstract - we know these go together as a pair. Since Gallery C already has Folk and needs 1 or 0 more, we know it cannot be in that Gallery. We also know Expressionist can only be in A or B, so if it is in B along with D, we don't have enough space for the pair and the 3rd in Gallery B cannot be Cubist since Expressionist and Cubist cannot be together. We also know Digital is in Gallery B, so placing the pair in the same gallery B could work out well for the figuring out Gallery A.

Expressionist - we know it needs to go in A or B but B is now full - so Expressionist has to go in gallery A. There is no option for it to go in Gallery C. Which means Cubist, which cannot be in the same Gallery, will be in Gallery C. That helps us determine that Folk + Cubist go in Gallery C and now both of our answer parts are clear.

Given

GB- has 3 and A&B together and not in GC,GC has F & C&E not together.

Try placing with the option & Check with option for GC

3 option for F but GC cant have 3 and if GC have F only then GA to have C&D which is not in option. So GC will take C&F n GA will take E n GB have ABD

Abstract and Baroque can not be in Gallery A because then Cubist and Expressionist should be together in Gallery B. So they are in Gallery B.
Then we have to assign Cubist, Digital and Expressionist.
The only valid arrangement (taking into account the options in the answers) is when we assign Digital to Gallery B:

Gallery A: Expressionist
Gallery B: Abstract, Baroque and Digital
Gallery C: Cubist, Folk

Gallery A: Expressionist Only, Gallery C: Cubist and Folk only

1. Cubist, Folk, and Digital only
2. Cubist and Folk only
3. Cubist only
4. Baroque and Abstract only
5. Expressionist Only
6. Folk Only
Because the Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C, so the answer for column Gallery C is in 1, 2, 6.
And exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B, so there are 3 types of artwork remaining to arrange for Gallery A and C (no gallery is empty)=> The answer for column Gallery C is 2 or 6.
Suppose the answer for column Gallery C is 2 - Cubist and Folk only, there is only 1 artwork in Gallery A => The answer for column Gallery A is 5 - Expressionist Only.
So, in column Gallery A, the answer is Expressionist only; in column Gallery C, the answer is Cubist and Folk only.

We have: A & B can be displayed in Gallery A or B. A&B cannot be in Gallery A because then C,D,E will be in Gallery B - violates the rule that C is not in the same gallery as E. So A&B have to be in Gallery B.

Looking at the answer, for column Gallery C, we have 2 answers that meet the rules - C&F and F only. If we choose F only, then Gallery A will have 2 artworks. But there are only 2 answers with 2 artworks - C&F and A&B. F is already in Gallery C, and A&B is already in Gallery B, so this has no right answer. Therefore, we have to choose C&F for Gallery C.

Then Gallery A has 1 artwork. There are 3 answers with 1 artwork - C only, E only, and F only. By elimination, we choose E only.

Art Types -> Abstract, Baroque, Cubist, Digital, Expressionist, and Folk

1. Exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B.
2. The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C.
3. The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.
4. The Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C

Lets assign rule 2 and 4 first, folk artwork to gallery C and Baroque and Abstract are together in gallery A or B

With the given options for gallery A and gallery C, lets check the possibilities

Scenario 1:
A -> Baroque and Abstract only
B -> 3 Artworks => Cubist, Digital and Expressionist (Not possible since Rule 3)
C -> Folk only

Scenario 2:
A-> None
B-> 3 Artworks => Baroque, Abstract and Expressionist
C-> Cubist, Folk, and Digital only

Not possible since no gallery should be empty (A will become empty since B and C 3 artwork)

Scenario 3:
A -> Expressionist
B -> 3 Artworks => Baroque, Abstract and Digital
C -> Cubist and Folk only

This case satisfies with the given options

So,
Gallery A - Expressionist
Gallery C - Cubist and Folk only

artwork: A, B, C, D, E, F
galleries: GA, GB, GC

If A and B are in GA, then C and E must be in GB. Incorrect, so A and B are in GB.
The other artwork in GB can be C, D or E:
If it is C: Then (GA,GC) could be (DE,F), (D,EF) or (E,DF) -> not in the options
If it is E: Then (GA,GC) could be (CD,F), (C,DF) or (D,CF) -> not in the options
If it is D: Then (GA,GC) could be (C,EF) or (E,CF) -> only (E,CF) in the options

Answers: Gallery A: Expressionist Only and Gallery C: Cubist and Folk only

Select for Gallery A the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery A, and select for Gallery C the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery C, such that the two selections, from among the given options, would be jointly consistent with the information provided. Make only two selections, one in each column.

Let's start by positioning 'Folk' in Gallery C

Group A -
Group B -
Group C - Folk

Let's position 'Baroque' and 'Abstract' in Gallery B as we cannot fulfil requirement 1 without it

Group A -
Group B - Baroque | Abstract
Group C - Folk

Looking at the answer choices we have the below choices
If we chose Gallery C --> Folk Only
Then Gallery A --> Digital | Cubist \(or\) Digital | Expressionist [ neither is present hence choice is cancelled]

Or

If we choose Gallery C --> Cubist and Folk only

The Gallery A --> Expressionist [Possible combination]

Final configuration
Group A - Expressionist
Group B - Baroque | Abstract | Digital
Group C - Folk | Cubist

Answers
Gallery A --> Expressionist
Gallery C --> Cubist and Folk only

* Assume A has both Abstract and Baroque, than B has to get Cubit, Digital and Expressionist. But Cubist cannot in the same gallery with Expressionist => B must have both Abstract and Baroque.
* A cannot have Folk => Based on the options in column, A might have Cubist only or Expressionist only.

 • If A has Cubist, then Expressionist maybe belong to B or C. If expressionist belongs to B, then Digital belongs to C which the only type left. But no Digital & Folk only with C => A cannot have Cubist
 • Then, A has only expressionist

* C cannot have both Folk and Digital, because if that's the case, B has only Abstract and Baroque (it must have 3 types)

 • C cannot have only Fold. If that's the case, B will have Cubist and Digital, which means B has 4 out 3 types
 • So, C must have Cubist and Folk.

* This left B with Digital, together with Abstract and Baroque.

Each type belongs to one Gallery only
No gallery has no type of artwork

Gallery C

Note
Abstract (same gallery with Baroque)XYesX
Baroque (same with Abstract)XYesX
Cubist (not in the same

Reasoning with the rules, Baroque and Abstract must be in Gallery B. The third artwork in Gallery B must be Digital in order that the possible artworks in Gallery A and Gallery C are in the options. There is only one possible grouping:

In Gallery A there is Expressionist
In Gallery B there are Abstract, Baroque and Digital
In Gallery C there are Cubist and Folk

Correct answers are Gallery A (Expressionist Only) and Gallery C (Cubist and Folk only)

Okay let's jot down the information we have "
No artwork is repeated
No Gallery is empty
No let's look into the rules:
1st- 3 art works are there in gallery B -> which means A =2 and C=1 or A=1 and C=2
2nd- artwork let's say 'a' and 'b' are presented together
3rd- artwork let's say 'c' and 'e' are displayed in different gallery.
4th- artwork 'f' is displayed in C
Let us check the possible combination

if 'f' is in C then ->

if we have 'f' and 'c' in Gallery C ->

(Note from the given option in the question we only have 2 cases where 'f' is present in Gallery C. So either of those two options will be correct and taking them into consideration i found the other possible combinations)
Hope this explains my answer which is

Gallery A: Expressionist Only
Gallery C: Cubist and Folk only

GALLERY AGALLERY BGALLERY C
'd','e''a','b','c''f'
'd','c''a','b','e' 'f'
'e''a','b','d''f','c'
'd' 'a','b','e' 'f','c'

"The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C": Baroque and Abstract can be in A or in B. If they are in A, the remaining three, Cubist, Digital and Expressionist must be in B. But "The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.". So Baroque and Abstract are in B.
The third artwork in B must be Digital as in the options we have it only in "Cubist, Folk, and Digital only" and it is impossible that in A or in C there are three artworks.
Combining Cubist and Expressionist with the solutions the right one is:

Gallery A = Expressionist
Gallery B = Baroque, Abstract, Digital
Gallery C = Cubist, Folk

The right answers are Gallery A=Expressionist Only and Gallery C=Cubist and Folk only

Gallery A: expressionist only
Gallery B: Cabist and folk only

Explanation
1 Folk is in C so C must include folk
2 Baroqul & Abstract are together but not in C so they must be in B
3 Cabist is in C (given Cubist & Folk only)
so expressionist must be in A
4 digital fills the third in B which is Baroque, Abstract, Digital.

A--------| B------------ | C---------------

As per the given limitations and info, C definitely has f

and a,b has to go to B since it has to have 3 displays.

Since c and e should go in different places, c will go in C and e will go in A because atleast one is required, and d will go in B

Hence, for A => Expressionist Only, and for C => Cubist and Folk only

Since Exactly 3 artworks are to be displayed in gallery B
1 total artworks to be displayed in A and C = 3, and all the galleries will have to show at least one work.
2 FolK will be shown in C.

First let's check for C
from 1 and 2 we can eliminate most of the options
Cubist, Folk, and Digital only - If this is true it violates statement 1
Cubist and Folk only - Keep this option for now.
Cubist only and Expressionist only both options are wrong as both options violate Statement 2
Baroque and Abstract only can't be shown in gallery C since Folk has to be shown in C

This leaves us with 2 options for Gallery C
Cubist and Folk only
Folk only
If folk only is being shown in C then this leaves us with few possibilities for A Gallery
1 Gallery A will show Baroque and Abstract - Not possible since Cubist and expressionist can't be shown together
2 Gallery A will have to show either Digital and Expressionist or Cubist and Digital. Both of these options are not available

So this means with Gallery C will show Cubist and Folk only

Now Gallery A can show either Digital only or Expressionist only.

As per options
Gallery A - Expressionist only.
Gallery C - Cubist and Folk only
