Chain of thought (it's a little like sudoku):

Let's rename Galleries to 1, 2 and 3 to avoid confusion.

AB must be in G2, else, the "C apart from E" restriction would avoid putting 3 arts in G2.

Looking at the options for G3, only those with F are eligible.
Choosing C, F, D would leave either G1 empty, or G2 with only 2 arts. DISCARD
If F only, G1 would be either (C,D) or (E,D). None of thos are available for G1. DISCARD.
G3 -> (F,C)

Now, E and D must be distributed in G1 and G2.
G1 -> E (No option for only D available).

A national art exhibition features six different types of artwork: Abstract, Baroque, Cubist, Digital, Expressionist, and Folk. These artworks are divided among three galleries: Gallery A, Gallery B, and Gallery C. Each artwork type is displayed in exactly one gallery, and no gallery is empty.

The following rules apply:

  • Exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B.
  • The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C.
  • The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.
  • The Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C.

Select for Gallery A the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery A, and select for Gallery C the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery C, such that the two selections, from among the given options, would be jointly consistent with the information provided. Make only two selections, one in each column.

Wow this took me some time.
I came up with this grid first, layering possibilities for each style and gallary, and the Gallery B row = should have 3Ys.

Then, I tested the six options with Gallery A -> see if any remaining option suits C.

(1), (2), (6) in Gallery A: Eliminated as we know Folk is displayed in Gallery C

(3) If Gallery A) C only:

  • Possible Gallery B) A,B,D or A,B,E (has to have 3 sytles) then Possible Gallery C) E,F or D,F
  • We don't have E,F or D,F for Gallery C in the six options, Eliminate
(4) If Gallery A) A,B only:
  • Possible Gallery B) C,D,E to satisfy having 3 styles, but we know C and E cannot be in the same gallery. Eliminate
(5) If Gallery A) E only:
  • Possible Gallery B) A,B,C or A,B,D then Possible Gallery C) D,F or C,F
  • We have C,F in the six options (option 2)

Answer: (A) Expressionist Only & (C) Cubist and Folk only

The only possible combination to satisfy the criteria and options would be:
G(A): E only
G(B): A, B, D (as A & B needs to be together and can't fit in C, if placed in A would create problem for C,E,D coz G(B) needs exactly 3 and C & E cannot be placed together)
G(C): F, C

Ans :
Gallery A = Expressionist only
Gallery C = Cubist and Folk only

Let's say the artworks are A, B, C, D, E, and F

Given Constraints:
1. Gallery B has 3 types of artwork (exactly)
2. B and A artworks are always together, but not in C
3. C and E can not be together
4. F is always displayed in Gallery C
5. Each gallery has to have an artwork (no gallery is empty)
6. Each artwork is displayed in only 1 gallery (no repetition)

We know that Gallery C has to have Folk (F) Artwork. So, out of 6 options, 3 are out (the ones without F in it)
Now let's check for the remaining 3 options for gallery C = [(FCD), (FC), (F)]

Given the constraints:
1. Gallery B gas exactly 3 types of artwork
2. Abstract and Baroque are in the same gallery but not in gallery C.
3. Cubist and Expressionist are in different galleries
4. Folk is in gallery C

Using abbreviations:
A: Abstract
• B: Baroque
• C: Cubist
• D: Digital
• E: Expressionist
• F: Folk

4=> F is in Gallery C
2=> A and B must go together but not in gallery C, A&B together either in gallery A or B
1=>Gellery B must have exactly 3 different types
3=> C and E are not at the same place

✅ Final Answer:
Gallery A: Cubist
Gallery C: Expressionist

Types of art: A, B, C, D, E, F.

Categories: Gal A, Gal B, Gal C
Gal B has 3 types.
B and A are displayed in same Gal but not in C.
C and E are not in the same Gal.
F is in Gal C.
No Gal is empty. Given that Gal C already has 3 types, the other two galleries can have either 2 or 1 categories, but not 3.

If B and A are assigned to Gal A, C D and E will have to be in Gal B since it has 3. But this would violate the rule that C and E cannot be together. Hence, B and A will go to Gal B. There is no option of "D only" but there is one of E only. If E is in Gal A, D can be in Gal B and C in Gal C.
Final arrangement:
Gal A: E only
Gal B: A, B and D
Gal C: C and F

This is a tricky one. We need to use the options to get the right answer because there are multiple possible combinations.
Let the types be a-f
let the galleries be A B C

Firstly it's important to know that a&b will be in gallery B.
B needs three types. Between c d e f. c & e cannot be together and f belongs to C. a&b must be in gallery B

Now we go to the options.

we will answer C first as it is easier.
only 2 options fit
2) c&f
or
5) f

if option 2 is selected for C
then option 4 for A agrees with all the conditions of question.
And as we know there cannot be 2 correct answers her. this must be it.

Overview
There are six distinct artwork types—Abstract, Baroque, Cubist, Digital, Expressionist, and Folk—distributed across three galleries: Gallery A, Gallery B, and Gallery C. Each type appears in exactly one gallery, and no gallery is empty. The rules are:
  1. Gallery B showcases exactly three types of artwork.
  2. Baroque and Abstract are displayed together in the same gallery, which cannot be Gallery C.
  3. Cubist and Expressionist must be in different galleries.
  4. Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C.

We need to determine the sets of artwork types for Gallery A and Gallery C from the given options that are consistent with these rules.

Options
  • Gallery A Options: Cubist, Folk, and Digital only; Cubist and Folk only; Cubist only; Baroque and Abstract only; Expressionist only; Folk only
  • Gallery C Options: Cubist, Folk, and Digital only; Cubist and Folk only; Cubist only; Baroque and Abstract only; Expressionist only; Folk only

Step-by-Step Reasoning
Since there are six artwork types and Gallery B must have three types (Rule 1), Galleries A and C together have three types. Possible distributions are:
  • Gallery A: 1 type, Gallery C: 2 types
  • Gallery A: 2 types, Gallery C: 1 type

Constraints from Rules:
  • Rule 4: Folk is in Gallery C, so Gallery C options must include Folk, and Gallery A options cannot include Folk.
  • Rule 2: Baroque and Abstract are together in Gallery A or B, not Gallery C, so Gallery C cannot include Baroque or Abstract.
  • Rule 3: Cubist and Expressionist must be in different galleries.

Filter Options:
  • Gallery C Valid Options: Cubist, Folk, and Digital only; Cubist and Folk only; Folk only (Baroque and Abstract only is invalid per Rule 2).
  • Gallery A Valid Options: Cubist only; Baroque and Abstract only; Expressionist only (options with Folk are invalid per Rule 4).

Test Combinations:
  • Case 1: Gallery C = Folk only
    • Gallery A = Baroque and Abstract only:
      • Gallery A: Baroque, Abstract
      • Gallery C: Folk
      • Gallery B: Cubist, Digital, Expressionist
      • Violates Rule 3 (Cubist and Expressionist in same gallery).
    • Other Gallery A options (Cubist only, Expressionist only) yield too many types for Gallery B.
  • Case 2: Gallery C = Cubist and Folk only
    • Gallery A = Expressionist only:
      • Gallery A: Expressionist
      • Gallery C: Cubist, Folk
      • Gallery B: Abstract, Baroque, Digital
      • Rules check:
        • Rule 1: Gallery B has 3 types.
        • Rule 2: Baroque and Abstract together in Gallery B, not C.
        • Rule 3: Cubist (Gallery C) and Expressionist (Gallery A) in different galleries.
        • Rule 4: Folk in Gallery C.
      • Valid combination.
    • Other Gallery A options are invalid (e.g., Cubist only conflicts with Cubist in Gallery C).
  • Case 3: Gallery C = Cubist, Folk, and Digital only
    • No Gallery A option with 1 type (to leave 3 for Gallery B) is valid without conflicting assignments.

Final Answer
The only consistent combination is:

  • Gallery A: Expressionist only
  • Gallery C: Cubist and Folk only
This solution ensures all artwork types are assigned uniquely, no gallery is empty, and all rules are satisfied.

Gallery A- just expressionist work and Gallery C- Folk and Cubist since Gallery B- Abstract, baroque and digital fulfills the given criteria:

Exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B.
The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C.
The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.
The Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C.

Let the artwork be abbreviated as A, B, C, D, E, F.
And each gallery should have at least one art work.

Gallery A: --> [A,B]

Gallery B: --> It should have 3 types of artwork, [A,B]

Gallery C: F --> ~[A,B], F

Artwork C and E should not be together.
So, from above we can infer, Gallery C should have at least have artwork F, and number of artwork in Gallery C cannot be more than 2, since each gallery must have at least one artwork.
So, we are left with only, Cubist and Folk only and Folk only options for Gallery C.

Now, if we take first option Gallery C having Cubist and Folk only, then:
We can not put artwork A, B in gallery A, else we will have 2 artworks in gallery B. So, artwork A, B will be in gallery B.

Gallery A: --> [A,B]

Gallery B: A, B --> It should have 3 types of artwork, [A,B]

Gallery C: F , C --> ~[A,B], F

From above we can come into conclusion artwork D, E can be in gallery B or gallery A.

From options, we can see match artwork E to gallery A.

So, our final answer will be,

Gallery A --> Artwork E only

Gallery C --> Artwork C, F only

We don't need to check further options.

Lets have artworks as A, B, C, D, E, F
Lets observe given conditions,
Condition 1 - Exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B.
Condition 2 - The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C.
Condition 3 - The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.
Condition 4 - The Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C.

Now, lets arrange them considering condition 1, condition 2 and condition 4
Stage 1:
Gallery A:
Gallery B: A, B , ?
Gallery C: F

Note : Not arranging artwork A and B in Gallery A as exact count to be 3 at Gallery B was given at condition 1

Now, Stage 2:
As per condition 3 and based on given options
Arrangement 1
Gallery A: C
Gallery B: A, B , D
Gallery C: F, E

Arrangement 2
Gallery A: E
Gallery B: A, B , D
Gallery C: F, C

Therefore, Arrangement 2 is more feasible

Select for Gallery A the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery A, and select for Gallery C the set of artwork types displayed in Gallery C, such that the two selections, from among the given options, would be jointly consistent with the information provided. Make only two selections, one in each column.
The above rules infer to:

  • Exactly three types of artwork are showcased in Gallery B. => Gallery C has 1 and Gallery A has 2, or opposite. => Option "C, F, D only" is eliminated.
  • The Baroque and Abstract artworks are displayed together in the same gallery, but not in Gallery C. => Option " A and B only" is not for Gallery C.
  • The Cubist artwork is displayed in a different gallery from the Expressionist artwork.
  • The Folk artwork is displayed in Gallery C. => Option "C and F only" or "F only" is for Gallery C.

    Try Option "F only" for Gallery C, then A has 2 artworks and B has 3 artworks, and since C can't be together with E => Gallery A could have either D&E artworks or D&C artworks. ( None of the options in the answer)
    Try Option "C & F only" for Gallery C, then A has 1 artwork and B has 3 artworks => Gallery A could have E only, or D only. There is an option "E only"

ASWER: Gallery A " Expressionist Only" and Gallery C "Cubist and Folk only"

Gallery A Gallery C
NNCubist, Folk, and Digital only Gallery B has 3; no gallery is empty, so as for galleries A and C, one has 1 and the other has 2.
N YCubist and Folk only We know Folks is in C.
N Cubist only We know Folks is in C.
N Baroque and Abstract only We know Folks is in C.
YN Expressionist Only We know Folks is in C.
N Folk Only We know Folks is in C.

We can ignore some options as stated above. From there, we should evaluate the combination. There are only 2 options for gallery C, so let's start with that.
  1. Gallery C has Cubist and Folk only, so Gallery A has to have only one art type; the only option is Expressionist Only. This also satisfies the condition of Expressionist and Cubist not being in the same gallery, and Baroque and Abstract being in the same gallery.
  2. Gallery C has Folk Only, which means Gallery A has to have 2 art types. The only option for gallery A is Baroque and Abstract only, but this leaves Expressionist and Cubistnot to be in the same gallery, which will be wrong.

From Question we can substitute it as

Artworks: a,b,c,d,e,f (Total 6)
Gallery: Ga,Gb,Gc

From Given statements we can see:
1. Gb has 3 artworks and we know no gallery is emply so Ga can have either 2/1 artwork or Gc can have 2/1 artwork

To see this we can create a table
Gallery AGallery BGallery C
# artworks2 or 132 or 1

2. artwork b a is displayed together but is not in gallery c
Situation 1:
Gallery AGallery BGallery C
# artworks2 or 132 or 1
Statement 2a,b
Situation 2:
Gallery AGallery BGallery C
# artworks2 or 132 or 1
Statement 2a,b

3.C and E cant be together

4.F is displayed in C:
Situation 1:
Gallery AGallery BGallery C
# artworks2 or 132 or 1
Statement 2a,bf
If f in Gc,then c,d,e left(c/d/e)a,b,(c/d/e)f,(c/d/e)
Situation 2:
Gallery AGallery BGallery C
# artworks2 or 132 or 1
Statement 2a,bf
if f in Gc then c,d,e left
and we know Gb have 3 so definitely cde in Gb
a,bcde
(But not possible)
f

So only scenario 2 possible.
If Ga= 2 Gb=3 Gallery C=1
Then
Ga=c/e,d Gb=a,b,e/e Gc=f
or
If Ga=1 Gb=3 and Gc=2
Then
Ga=(c/d/e) Gb=a,b,(c/d/e) Gc= f,(c/d/e)

From selections Galley A will be Expressionist only and Gallery C will be Folk+Cubist only
