Option A: Out of context, we are not concerned with temperature next year
*Eliminated*

Option B: para mentiones temperature in Canada was as dangerously high, no where comparison is mentioned
*Eliminated*

Option C: the word “certain” is a red flag here, the paragraph says heat related death toll increased, not air conditioning related
( a trap option choice i feel)
*Eliminated*

Option D: Great Depression is just real world assumption which is not mentioned in the passage
*Eliminated*

Option E: assumption sounds correct and possible. Note that the first line of the paragraph says “serious environmental and *economic problem*”
More crop damage> Less availability> Price Increase —> economical effect of the heatwave. Hence option E stands correct

hope it helps

"The 1936 North American heat wave remains one of the hottest and most destructive on record, causing serious environmental and [economic] problems"

From my understanding only thing thats closer to conclusion is : the heat caused problems for the most vulnerable members of society.

This is used as premise: The temperatures were so high, in fact, that the soil was depleted of necessary bacteria, and the crops withered away leaving a serious shortage of corn and wheat. The drought that accompanied the heat wave stripped the soil of all nutrients, and the upper layers of the soil quite literally blew away, developing into serious dust storms in the Midwest.

Every option was eliminated except E.

I think it is an inference question, not an assumption. "may be assumed *strictly based on the information provided in the passage above.*"

Hi everyone, I am Akshat, and I have been preparing for GMAT for the last 3 years. My exam is in July next month, and I feel I have covered a lot of ground. Recently, during my prep, I have prepared a GMA command Centre to drill down specific weak areas. I made it using Claude Fable 5 model, and it’s helping me drill down into my specific problems. It is highly catered to my use case, but I still feel others can benefit from it, especially if they are in self-prep mode. I would love your honest feedback on it. Thanks.

Pretty neat. You need Claude to use it but it’s a great way to build your own dashboard and import the error log. 👍

I would say the more you can dive into the underlying reasons of your weaknesses the better. Just mentioning that the answer to improving your score is not always practicing more questions but really understanding what’s not clicking and why you made certain mistakes so make sure you tag mistakes with reasons to help A.I. to help you
