I think it also matters when you get the MSR. If it happens to be in the first 10-12 questions, then definitely no! in line with what WA@akr6194 has mentioned above...best is to get max right till the 15th Q. If you are feeling great about your performance with first 14, then you may take a chance if MSR is 15th Q..

Took the GMAT today and got a fairly tough quant and DI set. I was averaging 685-705 in mocks and felt to 645. Full context - I’m much more comfortable with verbal and scored well there. Followed quant -> DI -> verbal as my order (same as mocks).

Anyone else faced this during their first attempt recently? How did you change your prep/approach? Did it feel easier in subsequent attempts?
