Not more than 1 or at max 2 but it’s better to be prepared because coordinate geometry has a very limited syllabus and would be a quick win if it comes at all.
Scoring is relative so if you get 2 back to back coordinate geometry question (in my opinion, highly unlikely) you will screw up your algorithm big time in case you get both the questions back to back wrong.
In case it’s spread out and you get rest of the questions right, not that much but still depends upon the difficulty of question you’re getting wrong. If those were easy questions, you’re again doomed.
Hasn’t coordinate geometry been eliminated from the Focus edition syllabus altogether?

I don’t think so, there are some elements of geometry that can still be tested.
On top of my head, I think these are topics which you should be acquainted with

Coordinate Geometry: axes; slope and y-intercept; parallel and perpendicular lines; distance formula; midpoint formula; circles; graphing inequalities in the coordinate plane

I say circles because there are some question which can be very quickly solved if you know that (x-a)^2 + (y-b)^2 = (radius)^2 where (a,b) represents center of the circle.

These notes are a little old, but very good for a quick refresher:
yerbamate2020-s-gmat-notes-for-327623.html

you can google the Focus Edition Syllabus and revise the notes selectively.

I think you can try to observe which type of questions take most of your time.
From my personal experience, I sucked in GITA question time wise although I found them easier to solve.
The thing that I noticed with them was, I was solving them right but I was taking 3-4 mins per question which is not great for the section as a whole.

For you it could be DS where you’re over analyzing the choices and losing track of time. Once you figure out where you are losing most of your time, make sure you practice enough to speed it up. Then give a sectional again to calibrate your progress.

No, it is well alive tucked away in the Functions section of the Official Guide.
They are perhaps not testing the circle equation anymore but the slope of line and all of that good stuff is there.
Here is a good topic on reality of Coordinate and not-so-coordinate Geometry presence in the GMAT Focus: https://gmatclub.com/forum/geometry-tes ... 34316.html

Hi guys, my scores are fluctuating in these ranges — Quant (86–90), Verbal (80–83), DI (78–83). Target is 735+. Any tips to push through the last mile?
First try consistently reaching 695+ for which you will need to score on the higher end for both your current Q and V scores. Once their you can start focusing on incremental improvement in DI. 735+ is 100th percentile for which you will need high accuracy on hard questions, aim for 70-80% accuracy. You will need to be thorough with all the concepts and variations available in official questions and how you can apply them to diff setups. You have less or no room for careless mistakes, so focus on cutting them down. And be confident with time management while attempting full test so you can get your best score.

Found an interesting CR question, do let me know your thoughts on this and how you got to the correct answer. I took more than 3 mins on this.
D i think

It gives an alternate explanation of why the children would have got asthma but in E they are going broader by talking abt competitive altheltics

How do you guys cope with phrases like in this question it mentions „until a few years ago“ mean they are not doing it anymore since there opinion might have changed?

Cause in my way of thinking it would mean they are not anymore recommending such because they are not anymore believing in such treatment ? Where do I go wrong here

Good question. I would agree with you that the phrase implies a change. However, I’m not sure that you can conclude that something has completely stopped as it could mean just a reduction or simply a change. Having the full text for reference would give a better sense but you’ve spot it what’s called a trigger word, the one where your mind should just get jolted and a-ha- pay extra attention

Yeah thats what I concluded as well since I stumbled across stuff Like that a fee times - and usually the correct answer is the one where you let out all futher implications which are not given by the texts - thank you

Hi @bb @hr1212
I’ve been prepping for GMAT FE for 4-5 months, strictly following eGMAT’s section-by-section plan. So far only Verbal, I’m currently at V82. I used to do mixed practice but switched on their advice to master one section with target accuracy first.
I’m feeling stuck because of their plan because it’s been dragging on too long (last 3-4 months only Verbal). I’m in a loop chasing V88 accuracy.
I already have a solid strategy, process, and review method for Verbal and know I can easily cross V82 with some light practice and tweaks.
Do you think I should stop at V82 now, quickly cover Quant + DI, then shift to mixed practice and full mocks?
Would really value your opinion. Thanks!

My non-expert opinion would be that you need to change what you’re doing or change how you learning or change how you are approaching things. You need to feel that you’re improving you need to feel that you’re learning you need to feel that you’re getting better.

Otherwise you’re stagnating and torturing yourself and not using time well. So if you’re feeling that it’s been a week and you saw no progress, I need to change tactics or strategy and unfortunately no one can get really into your head until you exactly what you should change or how you should do it though the AGM match should be able to tell you something else to try. I would pose the question to whoever guiding you to tell them hey it’s been a few weeks for a few months and nothing is moving I don’t want to do the same thing over and over because it’s clearly not effective for me so give me more ideas what I can try

There are pros and cons to adding more variables with quantum DI to your practice.

Ideally you would win this battle and move on to other sections but if you have to put it on pause and come back, the goal is to win the war not every battle

Ideally i would have mailed them for this, but my guide no longer works with the company anymore and the new guide alloted isn’t really helping, to put it softly, so i thought of asking for your take on the situation

Bummer about the instructor. It’s a bit annoying but you can sit down the new one and probably tell him in about 10 or 15 minutes everything you’ve done and see what they would recommend.

I would also do analysis of your practice and see how many mistakes you make and then what questions so you can narrow down a lot more from just verbal down to at least question types, difficulties and maybe even topics so you could say that you struggled with medium assumption questions or hard reading comprehension questions. It kind of starts with identifying your enemy.

The more specific questions you can ask, the most specific and valuable answers you can receive. Here you ask how to improve verbal and the only data point you’ve given was V 82. You won’t get any help for advice if you don’t do the homework and identify your exact problem areas, I definitely can’t do it I’m not gonna be hacking into your account 😂 so I would say if you were expecting to get help here, it’s not that we don’t want to help you but it’s impossible because you haven’t met the prerequisites of diagnosing yourself. Know your enemy 💪
