"Whiteboards with background colors"

My whiteboard has dark green chalkboard on the back. Is it allowed?

Yes. Why do you think it would not be?

Thank you for confirming and for a quick reply.
I could not understand what you meant by “whiteboard with different background colors”, hence I asked.

Does someone know if there is a template we should be using to avoid wasting time during the exam? (Something like writing A B C D C thirty times before the exam starts or something like that?)

You can’t be writing before the exam starts so be careful with that. You can do some writing during the instruction section in Q and V but not before the test so be careful!

Thanks for the reply bb !

Do you know a good strategy to write down a simple template during the instruction section in Q and V ? To organize my ideas, answers and keep track of my remaining time?

I have seen some videos about some templates, but they were all related the offline GMAT, unfortunately. You would write down A B C D E (x30) and write down the remaining time in minutes on the end of each of the 8 pages to keep track of the time. Because I'm going to do the online GMAT, I wonder what's the best strategy template-wise to write on my whiteboard. :)

Hii
I'm about to take the online exam, but my whiteboard has a white blank side and a gridded backside. Would I be able to take the exam with this, using only the blank side? (Or should i cover the gridded backside with a ducttape or something and tell the exaniner that the board has only one usable side?)

Does the examiner have to see me and the whiteboard at all time?(cause i don't think that the angle of the camera would allow the examiner to see my face and the whiteboard on the table at the same time)

Hi. The proctor does not need to see the whiteboard at all times. The only need to show a blank whiteboard at the beginning of the exam and at the end of the session if you’re planning to leave the camera. It’s a good idea to show it before you leave and after you come back.

The grid is not technically a problem, but you don’t want them to think there’s something written on it.

Hi sorry not sure if I’m posting in the right place. I am taking the gmat online tomorrow afternoon and have a 14x14 whiteboard. I understand that the max is a 12x20. Area wise the one I’m planning on using is smaller. Am I allowed to use this board ? Any help in the matter would be appreciated!

Hi. no worries we have a mega discussion about the about whiteboards.

Unfortunately your board does not meet the size requirements which are given in terms of length and width.

At the same time, I have never seen a proctor ask you to whoop out the ruler and measure your board. Since yours is just slightly bigger, you may get away with it but at the same time the answer is usually why risk one more thing. I would recommend getting a board that fits into those requirements if possible.

Is it allowed to place the whiteboard on the table to the right and not directly in front of the laptop? As I am right-handed and more comfortable to see the ques and solve it. While practicing with keeping the whiteboard directly in front of myself the distance to the laptop is high and test screen seems small due to small laptop screen also keeping whiteboard in front requires it to balance on the lap.

Hi. There is no requirement where the whiteboard can be - you absolutely can put it to a side. I have not heard/seen test-takers bring problems with the whiteboard placement.
My guess you will only use it for Quant and perhaps some of the DI section, and only some of the questions, so not really a concern from test security perspective.
