Not really. An external monitor will not work with GMAT online. You can only use your laptop's screen.

Just want to understand the security check-in process for the exam.

How and where do we upload images of the workstation and the documents.

Is passport mandatory or not? I shifted to my home town a month ago but I forgot to carry my passport with me. I do have a soft copy though. Will driving license work? Also, for GMAT at centre, can we show driving license instead of passport?

Can you provide a reference for this? How do you know? Did you take it or is it on mba.com? (You did not ask him/her what country he/she was from by the way and requirements differ by country. I would be careful answering and they should be on mba.com)

I was not aware of a difference in doc requirements but always looking to learn ways new.

Thanks!

Sure, bb. My bad. It's actually on mba.com - see this link https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-online/g ... procedures. I actually took the GMAT Online this month and used my driver's license as ID. I had also contacted the customer service through e-mail and they confirmed that the driver's license could be used for the Online GMAT. However, a passport is still required for the test center based GMAT. For the test center identification requirement, check this link - https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat/about-th ... egulations. It seems that location-based requirement for IDs differs only for the test center based GMAT, not for the Online GMAT but I am not too sure about this. I took the test in India (if that helps).

Hmm...the previous GMAT Online FAQ page is indeed down at the moment, which strongly suggests that more changes to test deadlines (and possibly retake rules) might be imminent.

Again, here's the link to the new (or placeholder?) FAQ page, with no mention of the August 14th deadline: https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-qu ... nline-exam

In the meantime, here's what the old FAQ page looked like as of yesterday (Monday 7/20/20) when it came to 3 key questions:

Also, to get a feel for public opinion regarding these issues, here are the partial results from a couple of "3-day polls" that I'm running on Reddit:

Good luck on your GMAT and beyond,

That seems fishy. I remember I searched for the dates too. They have been removed from the main page now. But I can swear I saw the August 14th date in the FAQs yesterday. It is weird. MBA.com might do an announcement in the near future. Here's to hoping they extend.

bb
Interesting. I have been checking mba.com on a daily basis (almost) to check if/when they will extend the Aug 14th deadline. They have not extended it, but they have removed the date from their pages and they have removed the entire FAQ page. WTH?

Example: https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-qu ... nline-exam
Been moved here: https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-qu ... nline-exam - did you really have to rename it? Well... they renamed it and took the Aug 14th date out.

Just seems silly and unnecessarily fluid.... probably would be time better spent if they explained their proctor policies and addressed the whiteboard questions

True. I remember seeing the Aug 14 date yesterday. Today, it seems to have been removed. Let's hope they do not mess with the Online exam as it is. I was planning to take the online exam in August.

What are the chances that they will allow a second attempt at GMAT Online along with a break between quant and verbal?

Thanks

Hello Gagan...
Hope you are doing well...
I am on the same boat as you are, since my GMAT online exam got screwed up, despite an awesome performance on both Quant and Verbal. I think there is an error with the scoring algorithm per se. However, I am not sure whether we can take things forward this way, with GMAC, asking them to reevaluate. I so hope and wish that we can and things turn out in our favour. Right now, all we can hope for is, one more GMAT Online attempt. Please keep the forum posted if you have any information related to this.

Hi, can you elaborate on how the how the algorithm screwed up? I have seen one or two posts about this and am trying to understand. Also, if you can, can you share your mock scores and actual scores to know the deviation?

That’s a generic page and not a localized version. I don’t think DL will fly. The localized version still has passport as the only option in India (this is physical centric page) but I have not heard of GMAC relax Identification requirements. Unless you have actually taken a test and we’re approved to use a DL in India, I would not say so. The bottom line: need to have a way that specifically resolves this discrepancy.

Sure thing...
I have been scoring a minimum of 720 every time on the mocks. And on the most recent mock I took, I scored a 740. The verbal split was never below 37. But surprisingly, the verbal split in the GMAT Online exam was 29. I was more sure about the Verbal than the Quant. And Verbal split is definitely not a legitimate one is what I suppose. My close friend has taken the exam very recently and he had a power disruption. But he had completed his exam. He raised a concern regarding the power disruption and the GMAC gave him a chance to reattempt. When he asked the GMAC if they can tell the score of his previous exam, they responded saying that the exam was not in their records and there is no score. The proctor spoke to him and even asked him to take a break before the IR section. Now he is very much amused by the reason that, had he not raised a concern about the power disruption, what score would GMAC have given him.. Would he be given a random score? I have many concerns regarding the scoring algorithm of GMAC for the GMAT online exam.
I would be very much glad if you can also provide me with the links of the posts you were talking about.

If you are sure about the questions and the test, that means you did not do well. Sorry that’s just how it is. Means you got easy questions and never got to hard ones.
