Interesting. I have been checking mba.com on a daily basis (almost) to check if/when they will extend the Aug 14th deadline. They have not extended it, but they have removed the date from their pages and they have removed the entire FAQ page. WTH?

Been moved here: https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-qu ... nline-exam - did you really have to rename it? Well... they renamed it and took the Aug 14th date out.

Just seems silly and unnecessarily fluid.... probably would be time better spent if they explained their proctor policies and addressed the whiteboard questions

What are the chances that they will allow a second attempt at GMAT Online along with a break between quant and verbal?

Hope you are doing well...
I am on the same boat as you are, since my GMAT online exam got screwed up, despite an awesome performance on both Quant and Verbal. I think there is an error with the scoring algorithm per se. However, I am not sure whether we can take things forward this way, with GMAC, asking them to reevaluate. I so hope and wish that we can and things turn out in our favour. Right now, all we can hope for is, one more GMAT Online attempt. Please keep the forum posted if you have any information related to this.

Sorry for your situation, I have a diff experience though my score 690 (Q49 V34) was within my expected range as per mock scores but i think i could better if there is a break between quant and verbal. This was first attempt at GMAT so i am looking forward for future attempts. I hope they give another attempt at GMAT Online with a break this time. I dont think there any issue with algo.

See this official response. I took the GMAT Online recently in India and used DL for identification.

That’s a generic page and not a localized version. I don’t think DL will fly. The localized version still has passport as the only option in India (this is physical centric page) but I have not heard of GMAC relax Identification requirements. Unless you have actually taken a test and we’re approved to use a DL in India, I would not say so. The bottom line: need to have a way that specifically resolves this discrepancy.

Present Appropriate Identification


ID must:

• Be current (not expired)*

• Be valid and government-issued

• Be the originally issued ID (no photocopies)

• Exactly match the name, birth date, and country of citizenship you used when you scheduled your exam

• Contain a recent, recognizable photo of you and your signature


Examples of acceptable non-expired identification:

Passport

Driver’s license*

Military ID (including spouse and dependents)

Identification card (national or local)*

Registration card (such as green card, permanent resident, visa)*



*Temporary exception: IDs with an expiration date between January 01, 2020 and the date of the exam will be accepted

Can you provide a reference for this? How do you know? Did you take it or is it on mba.com? (You did not ask him/her what country he/she was from by the way and requirements differ by country. I would be careful answering and they should be on mba.com)

I was not aware of a difference in doc requirements but always looking to learn ways new.

You can use your driver's license for the Online GMAT, not for the test center based GMAT.

Is passport mandatory or not? I shifted to my home town a month ago but I forgot to carry my passport with me. I do have a soft copy though. Will driving license work? Also, for GMAT at centre, can we show driving license instead of passport?

BREAKING: I just asked a student to log into their mba.com account to see whether the GMAT Online deadline had been extended past August 14th, 2020.

It has! Test dates are now available until the end of the year. :cool:

I also logged in myself and tried to register for a retake, but it didn't work.

It still indicates on the new GMAT Online FAQ page that official retakes aren't allowed--at least for now--so I'm not surprised to discover this fact.

BREAKING: I just asked a student to log into their mba.com account to see whether the GMAT Online deadline had been extended past August 14th, 2020.

Thanks for posting! I was just checking every day to see if they extend it. A few days ago many pages removed Aug 14th date. Can you check if you can retake? Anything on that?

I checked into my account and i do not see the option to retake GMAT online. I took my Online GMAT only the last weekend so my situation is not the ideal one here.

I am pretty sure they will.

P.S. They stil have not updated mba.com with the official announcement/etc, so I am guessing they are working on the retake update as well... fingers crossed?

I believe announcement to allow Retaking of GMAT online will be out here soon and i am also guessing that any attempt after Aug 14th will count towards maximum number of attempts in a lifetime.

I too wish that they allow retakes. But if they do, it will cause a lot of chaos.
For example, those who submitted scores this year R4 can easily question Gmac for their change of mind...

I am not seeing ANYTHING on mba.com suggesting the end of year change YET, so my guess they rolled out functionality but not yet announced it. This page: https://www.mba.com/articles-and-announ ... oronavirus still has July 21 date on it with updates.
