Hi gmatkillerdude,
To start, is the 710 listed in your profile an actual GMAT Score, a practice CAT Score or some type of typo? I ask because a Q48/V42 would likely be a higher overall result. If it IS an Official GMAT Score and you do have a 710 - then you already have an outstanding Score (it's right around the 90th percentile overall), so you can apply to any Business Schools that interest you. By extension, a retest is probably not necessary.
IF you're just looking to improve on your Q48, then you might need to consider more than just the two categories that you've listed. While Number Property questions are frequent on the Official GMAT (especially in DS), Remainder questions are relatively rare (you'll likely see just 1 on Test Day), so it's important to put your energy into higher value subjects - and more importantly, TACTICS - that will help you to pick up those points.
Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) How many times have you taken the Official GMAT and how did you score on each?
Goals:
5) What is your Overall Goal Score?
6) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
7) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
8) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
