It was not clearly spelled out and perhaps for a reason. It only said reschedule fees are back as a part of the GMAT online announcement.

https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-online- ... -2660.html

I do not think this is a good business practice or right to charge fees without clear expectations. the fact that the website still does not list the should hopefully give you some ammunition to request a free change. Although in this case, you have the judge and the prosecutor is the same person

That is so nasty :'( I mean they still have the waiver thing up on their website. And they announced the charges back with GMAT online announcement. As if they deliberately left it ambiguous.

Turns out I am giving an attempt :p

Thankyou for clarifying though

I have written to them in the "contact us" option for the same. Lets see what they revert back. In the meantime I think I should buckle up my prep

Anyone aware since when GMAT started charging for reschedule for "in-person" test?

Last I remember, reschedule and cancel charges were waived off. I myself rescheduled the exam in October!

They also haven't updated their website and still I am being shown a 100$ charge for rescheduling ;( ;(

Am I living in a tunnel or is this reschedule fee new? It says it is waived off on their site though ??? I mean sure, for online exam I was aware the charges were back, but when did they say about in-person test?

I am so bummed out. I mean isn't this fraud or something, mentioning waiver on their website and charging on gateway? I booked the exam under impression that I could reschedule later and now this :@

bb, This happened few days ago i.e. Nov-5-2020. Below is email which I received from GMAC. I booked my exam on Nov-2 and before booking exam I enquired about rescheduling fee. Customer Service person told me there is NO rescheduling fee. But unfortunately, I received this email on Nov-5 that says GMAC is going to charge rescheduling fee now.

Thank you so much for pointing it out. I guess it is good that these fees were not introduced back in September when GMAT online was changed but there still a question.... When did the rescheduling fees get introduced? Or did they just quietly introduce these things? Without any notice?

I checked all my email + SPAM. I nowhere received that email about reschedule charges. Also, yesterday was 9th November in India. And just half an hour ago it got past 12am US time.

Even if that mail is the written record of GMAT, I have no clue why I was charged reschedule fees yesterday (11 hours ago). :(

better contact customer service of mba.com , initially they counted my gmat online attempt to my lifetime limit even when i gave gmat before 23rd september by usa est , they fixed the issue after i explained them how i took gmat online on 23rd september by IST and not by EST .

Ok I would like to update.

I contacted them via live chat. The agent told me to get my exam rescheduled free, I will have to contact them. I couldn't get a reschedule as no dates were available, but she told me I can contact them in a day or two should a slot open up.

That's what she said :
"We can do it from our side without any fee. Please let me know your preferred date and time to reschedule ?"
"Yes, you have to contact Customer service to reschedule without fee"
"I understand your concern, due to some technical issues, it is showing as you have to pay a fee. But you can contact us to reschedule the exam for free until further notice"

So apparently, to get it for free, need to contact services--- "until further notice".

$100  I thought rescheduling fee was $60. My friend booked GMAT exam on Nov-18. Yesterday, My friend snd his father tested positive for corona. He was ready for exam, but now unfortunately he cannot give exam on 18th, and he will have to pay what $100 for rescheduling

So apparently, to get it for free, need to contact services--- "until further notice".

Hi, I have the same problem as you.
so did you get rescheduling at no charge in the end?
Each of the agents I contacted via live chat had different suggestions. one said I should contact them via mail or one said I need to call them.

I sent the email to GMAC customer service as well.

They said, "although our site showed that rescheduling fees were waived, It did state that the waived fees were only temporary".
However, This statement means, they acknowledged that the official site has wrong information.
If that announcement was still there without any notice when we registered for the exam, it is obviously misinformation.

I'm still waiting for a further response from them.

Apparently, they updated the announcement on Nov. 17, after I sent a mail regarding this issue.
However, I still think that they remained wrong information from Nov.10th ~ Nov.17th (Since they sent an email to all candidates who registered before Nov. 10th, to inform of the reinstated fee) and they need to do something for the candidates who registered for the test during that period based on the announcement.

They haven't replied yet since I replied as above.. :(

Thanks all for the info. I was charged a rescheduling fee... I just called the customer service but was told:
    - once you paid the fee online, there is no refund;
    - fee waiver is available only to those tested positive or have symptoms --> you still need to call

Is this consistent with everyone else's experience? Has anyone gotten a rescheduling fee refund before?
