How much time do we need to spend to work on profile and essays for applying to B schools. Can we do that after taking GMAT exam. Im planning to give exam in August

Start right away. You can use your break time for this. I’ve already started. Talking to a consultant now would be too early. First, do your background research and get clarity—then approach a consultant if needed. In my opinion, admission consultants are overhyped!

Hi everyone,

I have 6 years and 9 months of professional experience as a Consultant with the Ministry of Environment, Government of India. For the past 16 months, I have been on a career break due to childcare responsibilities. I’m now preparing to re-launch my career and am planning to take the GMAT in September 2025 with the goal of joining a top-tier business school in India for the 2026 intake.

I would appreciate insights on:

What would be considered a competitive GMAT score for top Indian programs like ISB, IIM Lucknow (IPMX), and SPJIMR?

What are the acceptance rates or chances for candidates with my profile—strong public sector experience and a recent career break?

Hi I want to do self study for GMAT targeting to give it in August 25, I have given CAT a couple of time and has scored decently (97+) except for VaRc(55ish).
Can anyone suggest me how should I go like...
And if someone is trying to give GMAT at same time would love to connect.
