Can i get some insight from any of you about DI, I find truly struggle and stressful when deal with DI part as need process tons of information and the time is ticking. Anyone got clue how to improve on process DI questions faster and faster?
Hi. That is the whole point of the DI, unfortunately and I can totally see how it is overwhelming.
My suggestion would be to start with very easy questions. Don’t do the famous “smart” move of starting with the hardest questions. There’s absolutely nothing wrong in starting with basics. Start there and then build from there. I’m not sure if you are in the early stages or in the middle or in the late stage of your preparation but if you are in the very early stage, you can benefit from actually not timing yourself. And even maybe even in the later stages, you can still take data insights questions without timing yourself. I would probably still set a five minute timer so you have a little bit of pressure and control so you don’t spend half an hour on one question but I would really get deep into the analysis of the question and perhaps try to think of at least two ways to solve it and more if you can think of them, and try solving that question in multiple ways.
You want to develop a framework to approach data insights questions, framework that will live in your brain and as soon as you’re reading a question, it will be jumping out at you.
The second framework you need to create is how to solve a question you have never solved. Anyone can replicate and repeat but it takes a lot more effort than thinking to solve a question you have never solved so as you were going through these questions, which you probably have never solved, you will be developing this framework. (E.g. looking at patterns, doing some basic estimations to see if they can give you some information, etc). This means sometimes you may start back solving the question or attacking it from the front or seeing what the answer choices can probably tell you. This is hard work so I think it is totally fine not cutting yourself off at just two minutes and allowing yourself to develop this framework.
