I agree that there`s a lot of anxiety, but imagine the people who get waitlisted from R1 to May. There were a few dozen last year if I remember correctly no? Now that`s a lot worse!

I agree. However, a counter argument is that these people would obviously have applied to other schools, or will do so in Rd 2. Being waitlisted at HBS is a great indicator of your caliber, so I am sure they would have made it to another top choice eg: Wharton, Kellogg etc. by May. And if HBS finally admits them, I am sure people will be more than happy to forego the $2000 deposit to the other school.

This affected a friend - he got into Indian School of Business, but was waitlisted at Tuck. When HBS released a few people off its waitlist, a few seats at Tuck opened up and he was admitted.

If I am waitlisted till May and admitted I am afraid I would already be in my "Eat Pray Love" tour to discover myself after rejection.. Hmmm now I have to figure the availability of internet in rural Italy...

So basically we can expect a cascade effect to ripple across the rankings even late in the game? It`s worth the US$ 2k, but that`s still a lot.

So I just got a 20% raise at work. Do I let Harvard (and the other schools that I have already submitted applications for) know? Do I just call the admissions office?

What time zone are we talking about here? Is everyone still expecting news at 12 PM EST? Or are you just saying you personally won't be able to know till 6PM?

Yes, we are all expecting 12 PM EST. The previous five or ten posts are relating to the different time zones - aka some people have to wait until 6 PM their time which makes for quite a long day. I'm on the lucky side - I get to know at 11 AM my time. I was surprised I managed to get a full night's sleep last night.

Less than 3 hours to go!

Maybe the guys in the future time zone can let us past-dwellers know when the process starts? Also let us know what the DJI closes at if you can. (I`m kidding)
