Invite next week or not, we will all receive a notification of our status, right? Invite versus waitlist versus release?
Yes, that is correct.

Any NGO/Non-profit candidates receive invites? North America or elsewhere?

Same here... but lets wait another week.
Has anyone more experienced than me checked the stats on the first page of this topic? Right now 5 people updated their status, out of maybe 200 that applied in the first round. Is that representative? does anyone know what to expect for next week based on previous years?

I'm an NGO/Non-profit candidate based in Israel and I did not receive anything yet...

So the best I have to run off of is in the Director's blog post from January 13, 2012.
"The pattern of interview invitation volume in Round 1 was:

Week 1 (first wave of invitations): 750 invitations sent
Week 2 (second wave): 80 invitations sent
Week 3 (third/final wave): 25 invitations sent"

So, based off of that, our chances next week are not good. Obviously, there are two rounds now instead of three. But 88% of invites were sent on the first day. Things could be different now, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I think it's pretty likely HBS is doing things differently this year with interview invites - just seems that the average GMATClub member is more qualified than the average applicant - and the fact that there are so few interview invites (in comparison to last year's first wave of invites on GMATClub) strikes me that maybe the two waves are more balanced than last year's 75/25 split

I just cross referenced people who posted they were invited to interview with the people who changed their status to invited to interview, and it appears between the two there are 13 unique people who were invited to interview so far. I can't imagine that everyone has had a chance to log in yet, but I'm curious to see the development.

Nice... I was wondering that about 15-20% of applicants should get an invitation, right? I am with daltcap when he says that the average gmat club member has a stronger profile than the average. Based on the stats, I would expect about 40 interviews in round 1 around here, or is it too much? I hope the number does not go much higher than 20 after today

Yes, I've read approximately 20% of the applicants are interviewed. About 1,800 interviews per year, so the percentage depends on the pool of applicants, which has recently been in the 9,000-10,000 range.

For those of you who are curious, 11 of the 13 who were invited to interview had their GMAT score visible. The average GMAT of those invited to interview was 737. The range was 690-760. Obviously, this doesn't mean much considering the small sample. But I analyze everything so I thought I would share in case you do too!

There is a disproportionate number of international students on this board, so the interview numbers would be deflated being that their admissions rates are lower, I think.

I didn't get an invite today either. I've mentally accepted I'm not getting in. You cannot be disappointed if expectations don't exist, right?

*heavy sigh

American nonprofit candidate here, no email today. Reading around, though, it seems like far fewer invites were sent out today when compared to the first notification date last year. No one knows for sure, but it's certainly worth keeping your head up!
