Agree this seems odd. I'm guessing they received more R2 applications than they expected (which wouldn't be good for us).

The real open question is: are they making calls before we get the next email update? Or will calls begin after that email update?

They specified that invites will go out in January so they have about 3.5 days, crunch time! I'm sure they're crazy busy over in Dillon House.

Any news? Wave 1 interview invitations will be sent out in about a couple of hours. Now that Dee has posted on her blog that more invitations will be sent out on Feb 3, is it possible that we will be told about our status only after that - once they know for sure how many people they are calling for interviews?

Finally an email from Eileen. All the best everyone? Quick q - how is 20-25 number? Does anyone know how many offers were made last year to R1 waitlisters? Also, any clue as to what % does 20-25 represent, i.e. how many people are in the waitlist this year?

I believe I heard them say they would waitlist ~150 people from R1... so 13-17%?

I think you might be on the wrong thread :P (correct me if I'm wrong). But this is for people in the waitlist.

Woah! 150 seems a very large number. Where did you hear it from? They don't disclose it officially, do they?

https://poetsandquants.com/2015/04/01/hb ... wait-list/

If you look there, last year there were about ~100 on the WL after R1 and R2 decisions were announced. This 100 excludes R1 WL candidates that were accepted and rejected before the R2 decisions came out. I would expect about a 40/60 split between R1 and R2 candidates on the WL after R2 decisions.

With that, I would think that for us, there is currently "25 accepted"+"40 continuing on the WL"+"# Rejected" on the WL now. So I think the total R1 WL is around ~120 depending on what that last number is.

Could totally be talking out of my ass though.

Also, HBS took 85 off waitlist 3 years ago.

Interesting that there are two admissions off waitlist today reported on clear admit despite the pretty explicit note that they would be making the calls early next week. Both also apparently from Mexico.

Looks like another person off the waitlist this morning in Washington DC. I wonder how many calls are left.
