if your talking about ielts score, it wont be big deal. they just want to know if you can understand and learn in english. If you have completed your undergraduate course in english medium, ielts is not even required.

Hi,

Would you recommend to apply at the end of round 2 (2nd of January) or beginning of round 3 for HEC MiM?

Do you think my profile is competitive enough right now or should I definitely retake the GMAT?
German GPA 1.2; 3 consulting internships; Semester Abroad; GMAT 690

Appreciate any help!

Your GMAT falls within range. I do not think that the marginal gain from having a higher GMAT score will offset the increased competition of Round 3. You should do your best to apply now, however if you feel that your application is rushed, then it might be wise to postpone.

I’m also a fellow applicant, your profile looks impressive. There is an issue with the GMAT score, HEC’s average for MiM is 710, it can be an issue especially in R3 where most of the seats will be filled already.

You have very good chances if you manage to get your gmat slightly higher - have you tried GRE?

I havent tried GRE as I have heard that the verbal is bit tough, since it includes vocabulary questions

Also should I consider R1 for 2025 , or there can be chances for R3 2024

I think you should try for both. In the case that you don't get in, you should have a backup plan to build a somewhat better profile for R1 2025. Maybe getting a higher GMAT or GRE score, some more work experience, and so on.

I do want to ask why you feel the need to take a masters as you already have been recruited by Morgan Stanley - the HEC MiM will only let you recruit at the analyst position, so you would be paying around forty thousand euro's to recruit for the same position that you already have. There isn't (at least based on what you have told me) a big value add for you that justifies the price.

The reason I want to do MiM as I am interested more towards joining consulting firms...Also currently I am working in Operations department and can’t see much growth in terms of money and career ....

Okay that makes sense. Since you are targeting consulting, you might want to look at HSG SIM programme, which is the very best, and INSEAD's new MiM programme which has a good trackrecord so far of consulting placements.
