Dear Team,
I have just started a new role in a newly founded about 6 weeks back. The application form for all major schools ask us to provide in-depth detail about role, responsibility, challenges etc.
How can I answer these questions well? Also, is it o.k to state that my current salary is zero( I have vested equity in my company).
Also, can I talk about "In my previous role I was doing blah blah blah and I will like to draw upon this experience to achieve blah blah blah in this section"
I understand that this is a very important part of the application.

I recall that you previously shared your work with start-ups in the areas of business development and communications. However, your interest was to transition to a bigger company or to a start-up that would grant you a training launchpad potentially for your future entity. To share this across your essays, I believe that you want to proceed with describing your current role, responsibilities and (limited) achievements to date in this new position. Also, it is completely okay and in fact, commendable that you currently have pursued this opportunity despite a $0 starting salary and only equity in the company. This demonstrates your passion to pursue this goal regardless of the opportunity cost entailed.
Please keep in mind that it will be imperative that you effectively communicate your personal and professional background, along with your aspirations for business school. Most importantly, make sure that the other aspects to your applications are produced with unwavering quality. I have read many online posts from candidates with similar backgrounds who were rejected from their dream schools, not due to a gap in their background but due to an inability to effectively share their background and aspirations for an MBA.
