i'm sure there are some no-brainers who they'd accept as long as they didn't cuss out the interviewers.

As far as I know, we are all no brainers here. According to poets and quants, 80% of the application into top business schools are qualified (GMAT, GPA, Work Experience, etc). I think it is all coming down to essays, your leadership potential, and whatever factors that make you stood out among your peers.

no-brainers in terms of essays, story, leadership potential etc. those exist too.

Yep, I think we're all pretty much qualified and arguably no brainers. That's why I think they want to look at us as a whole and how we each add something to the group. I would hope that is the case. I think it must be, because otherwise there is no reason why they would interview me and reject people with GMATS 100 points higher.

No matter what the result is, it has been a fun ride with you all on this forum. I will either see you at Fontainebleau/Singy next year or I don't.

What was great about my match up with this particular person was that I got a woman's perspective of the MBA experience, as well as the advice of someone who did the MBA and was in a relationship at the same time. If you're in a committed relationship, I'd definitely encourage you to ask your interviewer if they were in the same situation during the MBA and how it went for them. I got a lot of good insight from mine.

Did she convince you to dump your boyfriend? Lose the zero and get with the heroes? There are some very eligible bachelors here

my interviewer did return to his significant other, but he noted that INSEAD is a place for both - building and breaking families. cross-gender interaction was very
intense, just like academics :)

ok, here is my interview report:

met my interviewer at his office this evening. his profile reflects my career aspirations very accurately.
Style: friendly. In Russian there are 2 variants of pronoun "you" (polite and informal), so he suggested to use an informal one
Standard questions:
1) Why MBA vs other career options
2) Which campus you start at and why
3) What you plan to do next and why. Here he actually requested lots of details (positions you want to get hired, how would you transition from position to position, which players in the industry you know)
Specific questions:
1) how exactly I planned a project I described in the essay
2) tell me more details about one of your accomplishments from your essay
3) why do you like that particular academic field (how would you use that knowledge in your future career)
There were no questions on my contribution to INSEAD, leadership/negotiation style, strengths/weaknesses, etc.

At the end there was a sort of informal feedback:
Negative: not very convincing about one of my long-term career goals
Positive: 1) have clear and detailed picture of my immediate career after INSEAD 2) thorough research on INSEAD electives and overall details about the school

Still no clue whether he would provide a positive recommendation at the end

at least 2 of them - career goals and accomplishments (he asked to send him all my essays). it took us 1h 30m (30m - his reflections on his experience and suggestions to me)

we've been talking for a while and I felt we exhausted each other (well, at least he exhausted me). we started to discuss really minor things. so I thought it would an appropriate closure and asked that question directly. besides, in my company it is natural to request a feedback (about meeting, project, etc) so I did not feel uncomfortable to ask

actually, if I tried and reflect myself on the interview, I would probably arrive at the same conclusion. true, that some of my answers were not laser-focused.

how about you guys, did you feel immediately which of your answers were weak or sort of incomplete or which of your answers really impressed your interviewer?

I used to think that if you have an excellent analytically ability, it will cover for any short fall in other thing. I never been so wrong lol
