Ok I had my 2nd interview. Youngish alum in mid 30s. Very smart guy. We had a I think very interesting conversation with plenty of good insights both ways. Not just the answer the questions type one.
Questions were trickier this time around. But frankly I felt well armed because I've spent lots of time wondering about these issues before. Odds are if you are the kinda guy or gal Insead wants then you have too. No I'm not gonna tell you because, that would be cheating.
One thing, I showed up to both interviews in a suit and tie and both alums were in polo and jeans. Not sure if that is a faux pas on my part. I work in an industry where you wear a suit and you get booted for wearing the wrong thing. But yeah, if you're good at smart casual and not interviewing at their office then that is the way forward. I suck at smart casual but look like a boss in a suit. Like John Hamm but manlier.
He'd requested my essays and cv so I given him that. My essays are probably a bit on the daring side. He said they were good. Allowed us to tackle some fun issues like race, culture, and what not. As we are both different races I thought this was a really cool and challenging discussion to have.
