Hello all,

I'm applying for INSEAD Jan-16 intake, R4. I've read several posts on the necessity of hiring an admission consultant, and I'm not sure if this actually stands

I'm a Libyan, 34 yr old Business Development Manager in the Oil Services industry, I come with 10 years of experience, 8 of which are in the oil sector, the other 2 are working in the humanitarian sector including the UN World Food Programme. I have worked in Egypt, the US, and Libya. I have heavily contributed in workshops, exhibitions, and training sessions all over the world. I also have 3 entrepreneurship attempts, one of which was a success

GMAT 680, Q49, V37
IELTS 8.0
GPA 2.78

Where do I stand? and do I really need to hire an admission consultant?

I appreciate your feedback in advance

Hey guys,

I am applying in R4 for 16D.

WE-4 years in Supply chain operations. Currently working for Apple
Bachelors (double major) in Supply chain and IT from Penn State
UG GPA: 3.3
Grew up in UAE, moved to the US and now working in the US. Have internship WE in India and Dubai. Well Travelled.

Now coming to the sore point: GMAT. My first GMAT attempt got me a 610. I have my second and final attempt this Monday. Not expecting anything more.

What are my chances. Recommendations and essays are pretty good.

I'm wondering the same thing, since I got early notification for interview. About one week before the deadline.

1 Saudi Arabian in class of 16D so far.

Can't post all the other nationalities. It's a very manual , time consuming process.

Hey guys,

I'm guessing most of you are quite excited about getting admitted to INSEAD at the moment. Some of you are probably waiting on your results, I wish you luck.

I am applying in R4 for 16D and as you can imagine INSEAD is a dream school.

WE-3 years in Consulting and I've recently moved over to my family business as an operations manager and for business development as well.
Bachelors: Mechanical Engineering
UG GPA: 3.25
I was born in the US, grew up in India, Indonesia. I currently work and live in India. I've traveled quite a bit and I've been lucky enough to have 2 friends who are alumni at INSEAD. Both of whom, had amazing things to say about the experience.

Just coming to the point, I've written my GMAT once so far, I got a 640 (Q46, V33) which is below par as per INSEAD standards, I am however rewriting this in 2 weeks since I averaged around 670 (Q46-49) and V(30-38) over 6 MGMAT's so I suppose I could do a little better if I concentrate on verbal. I've also written my GRE and I scored 800 in Quant and 520 in Verbal. I was just wondering if any of you have an indication as to whether that will weigh in? I'm hoping to at least get an interview so I'll have the time to rewrite my GMAT and improve my profile in the mean time.

Either ways, I wish you guys luck and if things work out and I get admitted, I certainly hope to join all of you in January. I would really appreciate it if someone could update the MBA connect stats for 16D and specify the number of American admits. Thanks.

Americans- 41 (Americans with dual/multiple citizenship- 13)

My two cents about your test scores would be to apply with both scores (in the event that you score slightly higher on your next GMAT test). I scored higher on my GRE Quant and even though my GMAT was "average", I think the GRE score report helped my application a great deal.

Thank you, appreciate the prompt reply. Loved your blog by the way, almost inspired me to start one of my own, I just decided to wait till I get admitted before I do haha. If don't get admitted, I'll know what to tell people not to do in their applications. :)
