I'm on the waitlist as well. Applied in R2

WE: 84 Months
GMAT 730 ( Q47 V44)
5 years of International Work experience

Indian based in the UK

I wrote back to my AO asking whether it made any difference if I was considered for the Jan19 intake. I doubt that will come to fruition though and I think the yield is quite high with few people moving off the waitlist..

Based in Austria, R2 waitlisted. Is there any stat for INSEAD, what percentage of people who are accepted but end up choosing another MBA?

Posted from my mobile device

As a waitlisted candidate from R1, my understanding is that they manage the waitlist pretty carefully and the waitlist pool is relatively small compared to other schools. September intake supposedly has a lower yield rate compared to January Intake, but I still think it's quite high (above 75%)

Have you heard anything since being waitlisted in R1? Did you respond to the AO with any queries?

I called my AO about 3 weeks ago to say "hello" and check in. I was assured that there would be movement in the near future and overall it felt to be a very positive tone for the waitlist in general.
Otherwise, I was also told that providing any updates is unnecessary.

That;s good to hear then. I thought people would move off the waitlist after the deadline for paying deposits? ie. if admitted candidates in your round don't pay the 10k deposit then they haven't confirmed?

Thanks for that, really good to know! Guess in a couple weeks, candidates who are accepted will have an understanding of how many spots filled etc.

Seems like we had 5-6 second round waitlists on the group chat, but didn't really see any rejections?

Yes, no rejections but i think those will come out tomorrow.... it doesnt appear that anybody moved off the waitlist for the Jan 18 intake...

How do you mean nobody moved off the waitlist for Jan 18 ? Nobody got accepted from the waitlist ? Is that based on the replies to the thread on this forum ?

Actually i;m wrong. there were only two people who posted in there and both have "WA" next to their status which means they were admitted! Phew..

They like to see job promotions and GMAT score improvements but I recently submitted somebody's update with regards to becoming the leader of their Community Soccer Club and he got off the waitlist so this is definitely a good strategy. I recommend that you all get a ding analysis to figure out what it is about your profile that is landing you on the waitlist and then get about the business of putting together an update that will address those things if possible. You can't resubmit essays but it is possible to remedy certain aspects of your application.

I definitely agree, I am just sharing what my AO said to me.

Anybody got any updates from their AO? The R3 interview reviews will be happening right now I guess so first week of April will be a key date for all of us...

I am also a waitlisted candidate from round 1. Does anyone know when we should expect news from the school? When was the deadline for the deposit payments of round 2 accepted candidates? Thanks a lot.

The deadline for R2 candidates to pay was approximately 4 weeks from the date decisions were announced. So last friday i guess. Some of us might hear from our AO's very soon.

The next key date would be when the R3 candidates who interviewed are given their decisions..again it depends on the demographic you fall into as INSEAD ( atleast my AO) has been very clear that is seeks to shape a diverse class. While I'm sure that everyone who was interviewed is good enough for the class, ultimately it comes down to your nationality which is rather unfortunate..

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer. I saw the nationalities of the candidates who got accepted in the previous year's waitlist topic. Do we have any information on that this year maybe?

mbagam0704 has apparently been accepted from the waitlist (as mentioned on her profile)

stig1587 is mentioned two times in the list shown in the first post

This means there are 12 people on the waitlist that we know of
