Hi devanshgala

I am sure you will take the feedback seriously even if it doesn't align with your expectations

I think there is a fair chance for you to get an interview call with the score and profile achievements that you have

However, It's very less likely for you to get admission even after a very good interview performance just because of the pool of competitors.

I suggest with some time in hand, you should try to take score to a level of 655 which I am sure is possible.

Let me know if you need more insight or help with better understanding. We offer free profile evaluations and almost 100% conversion in ISB as per predicted.

Hi Guys,

I am planning to apply ISB R1 this year, following is my profile:

10th: 96.4 (Valedictorian)
12th: 88.7
Undergrad: 9.2 (Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics BFM)
Professional Qualifications: FRM Charter holder (Amongst the youngest in the world to clear)

Have done a lot of co-curriculars in my college - TedX, Consulting Club, Cultural fests led teams and part of teams, won some fests for the college as well.

Been working in a Micro VC for the last 2.5 years, 3 years when I get in, got in via an internship to PPO Route. Part of the core team, did 4 investments, portfolio management, looking after ops and a bit of compliance, helped them launch new fund.

Got a 635 on GMAT, I know its a bit on the lower side but I wanted to get an opinion if this score with this profile is a fair chance at ISB R1.

Dear devanshgala,

From what you have shared with us, we can clearly see that you have performed well academically. The FRM Charter early on is a strong spike and reflects your initiative and commitment to continuous upskilling. You also bring diversified work experience along with strong extracurricular involvement, which further strengthens your profile.

While your GMAT score is currently below the median for ISB admits, given the time still available, we believe there is potential for a re-attempt and would highly recommend it if your mock scores had been trending higher. That said, if you feel you have already given your best, we want to remind you that the GMAT is just one component of the application. We already see strong potential to draw out impactful stories from your journey, which can help your profile stand out in the applicant pool.

We would be happy to speak with you further to explore how to present your profile most effectively and how an MBA can serve as a launchpad for your aspirations.

At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni committed to supporting prospective MBA applicants with profile positioning, essay reviews and interview preparation.

Results Matter! Therefore, starting this year, we are moving towards an outcome-driven approach for all our services to give candidates more confidence in the value we bring to the table. For more details, visit www.teamfly.org

Please feel free to book a 15 minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

Dear shisingh,

One glance through your profile tells us that you have done quite well academically and you already have a good GMAT score. Given that your score is above the median of most ISB admits, we believe a retake may not be necessary. At this point, your focus should be on crafting strong essays that reflect your journey, goals and motivations clearly.

While we do not have a lot of details on your work experience or extracurriculars yet, your recognition through the Employee Excellence Awards and your academic achievements such as the AIR 14 in DUET suggest that there is strong potential to bring out meaningful impact stories to support your application.

We would be happy to speak with you further to explore how to most impactfully present your profile and how an MBA can serve as a launchpad for your aspirations.

Hi devanshgala,

You have already made a pretty fair assessment of your profile.

The academic background, extra-curricular activities, and work experience will come together to strengthen your profile, immensely. However, the present GMAT score does not seem to do justice to what is a solid profile otherwise.

At this point, your entire focus should be on improving your GMAT score and once that is out of the way, you should focus on having a strong narrative and a logical set of career goals in place.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hi devanshgala

The younger you are in the PGP applications process, the more critical your GMAT contribution becomes. Why? Because, compared to other strong candidates, you will likely face challenges in presenting a strong career growth trajectory or depth of understanding within your field. That being said, your experience is seemingly interesting. Admissions officers have a weakness for applicants who are, in the well-traveled term, "passionate" about pursuing their dreams. It is only human to respond to enthusiasm. ISB will use the essays to make an indirect assessment of the quality of your mind and thought process. Do you think critically about the problems in your company or industry? Can you craft a compelling case that links your past, your goals, and your respective target schools? What is your unique story and motivation? What are you trying to solve?

Feel free to reach out should you want professional guidance

Hi devanshgala ,

Here is the brief summary of your Profile Evaluation:

You have an excellent academic record, rich experience in VC, being part of a fund launch and core investment team is impressive. You definitely have a strong chance at ISB and should apply in R1. That said, since you’re already at 635, aiming for a 675–695+ could significantly improve your chances, including for scholarships.
