ISB Profile Evaluation - Tools for B-School Profile Evaluation

Would appreciate if somebody could review my profile.
GMAT - 680 / Q-50 V-31
Post Grad- PGDM, Marketing from ITM Business School, Mumbai
Grad - Bsc IT from Mumbai University (Academic topper throughout grads)
X- 88% (ICSE), XII - 75% (ISC)
Three years of work ex in logistics industry at Managerial role
Decent co-curricular throughout college

Goal - To get into Consultancy for strategic roles.

Hi,

I am an ISB aspirant Could you please evaluate my profile and suggest me on the areas on which I will have to work on, in order to enhance my profile.

Indian/Male/26 years

Academic Details:
X - 82%
XII - 93%
Grad - 81% (B.Tech- Civil Engg)
Pursuing PG in Project Management from NICMAR (Distance learning)

Work Experience - 4.5 years
I am currently working as a Project Engineer for Knight-India. It's a UK based Project Management Consulting firm. I have been a sole Project planner for a 4 million sft Commercial development with a Project Cost Rs 800 crores. My key responsibilities involve project scheduling and tracking, Resource Planning, MIS (Management Information System).

Prior to joining Knight Frank, I was associated with Sobha Ltd and Aparna Constructions, where I've handled the similar function for the Residential developments of size 5 lakh sft and 2 million sft respectively.

Accomplishments:
-Certification of Appreciation for achieving First rank in academics during Graduation.
-Achieved 15th rank at the University level among all the Colleges affiliated to JNTUH.
-Presented technical Papers at various reputed Universities like IIT Madras and Osmania University.
-I was a representative for the Civil Engineering department to conduct various technical events at college under ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education)
- Won a couple of medals for presenting technical papers and projects during Graduation.

I am planning to take GMAT by mid of August. My target is 700+ and I've been scoring in the range of 670 to 690 in the mocks.

The biggest concern I have is the lack of Extra Curriculars. Could you please evaluate my profile and suggest me about how to enhance my profile to get into ISB.

I've heard that ISB prefers candidates from diverse backgrounds. As I am from a non-IT background, Do I have any advantage as such??

I am a Company Secretary with 2 years of work experience as of date. I am also studying for the Masters.

I have worked in a reputed CS firm for 18 months. I worked as an executive Company Secretary and I am currently working in a mid- sized CA firm.

Extra Curricular:
A budding spoken word poet,
Have done a certificate course in creative writing from Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts,
Volunteering at Robin Hood Army, Mumbai chapter (NGO) since a year,
certified jazz dancer from Shiamak Davar School of Performing Arts.

I am planning to take the GMAT in September and my target score is 740. I believe I can achieve it, although, my concern is with respect to my work experience and my overall profile. Is this is a good enough profile to get into ISB?
I will gain three years of work experience in March 2018.

Work Ex : Around 5 Years of Work Experience in Operations in Telecommunications Sector. Currently Working with Swedish Telecom Giant as Service Resource and Fulfillment Engineer.

Extra Curricular : Motorcylce Tourist and have explored lot of places on my motorcycle.
Volunteered with an NGO working on Life Skills and Academics of Underprivileged Children.
Trading in Stock Markets since last 1 year and have good knowledge about financial markets.

I haven't taken GMAT yet. Can anyone please review my profile and tell me which areas I should work upon and what should be the desired GMAT score for me.

Hi sagarmehra2015,

ISB receives more or less equal applications in both rounds and the seats offered are in proportion to the applications received. Thus, you are neither at an advantage or at a disadvantage, if you apply in R2

Apply to ISB, when you feel like you are in a good position to do so. If you are satisfied with your GMAT score and are ready to write your essays, apply as soon as you can. However, if you feel that a slight delay may help you improve your GMAT score or may give you a larger number of talking points in terms of job responsibilities, you may apply in the next round.

m 28 years, female,
having 6 years of experience in Corporate Financing in one of the public sector banks.

Got following grades:
X-72%
XII-84%
B.com(Hons) from DU-59.5%
have also completed certifiied associate of indian institute of banking with specialization in INTERNATIONAL BANKING.

Mam, the problem is i donot have any stuff for extra curriculum..

M planning to take test in August and targeting ISB. m getting r650 around in mocks

Will lack of extra curriculum be hurdle for me?

work experience 7yrs 1 month as on 31st july 2017 in COAL INDIA LIMITED. i am in the mining engineering field. my work profile is such that i have a good knowledge of man power management , planning and production. currently my work requires frequent interaction with end users. implemented new systems and work strategies in my project.

i haven't given my GMAT yet..

DO i have any chance in ISB ?
