Oh my god...Finally I saw this moment! I just got an interview invitation via e-mail a few hours ago..
I am planning to visit campus between 2-8 March and have a face to face interview instead of skype. What do you think? What will be the pros and cons of visiting campus and have interview? Will it worth to travel from to Turkey to US ?
Con: You like snow?

Ok I should accept that I am not a citizen of Kingdom of the North but I think I can handle it

I have to say, I just came from Turkey and it was pretty darn cool there at night. And I definitely saw some snow on some of the mountains there. I think you'll be ok...
Definitely worth the visit if you've never been and you're serious about Johnson!
I have never been there before and actually I feel I have to visit Cornell in order to feel campus environment and close-knit community. Somehow I believe in the power of face to face communication although it may have some repercussions such as anxiety, excitement..
I got an interview invitation by email this morning. I haven't been checking the page frequently so I'm not sure when my status changed. (I figured there would be an email and that it would be awhile since I submitted on the deadline). I applied through the consortium on their Jan 5th deadline date.
I sent an e-mail to Rebacca on Friday in order schedule my campus visit on March. However, I could not get any reply till today.I need to apply for US visa as soon as possible and schedule my trip details. Do you think should I call her tomorrow or should I wait a couple of days?
Call her and explain the reason behind your request. She should be able to get back to you in a day or so if she doesn't answer. If you still don't hear anything tomorrow, maybe try calling the general admissions office number.
I've heard visas for Turkish citizens can be hard for the US and many European countries. Don't know why, but that definitely seems like a valid reason to finalize your interview dates ASAP.

I am sorry to state that but those speculations about our visa problem are completely true. European countries are even harder than US . However, it may take at least ten days to take an US visa. Thats why I have to apply it before 10th January to give some space for other travel details. Calling her and explaning my reasons seem reasonable at this point.
A fresh update ? I got mail from Rebacca and I have scheduled my interview on 6th of March at 1:15pm. Now it is time to work on travel details and interview.
Will it be a good option to rent a car from NY? and do you have any good offer for lodging in Ithaca?
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get to Cornell from Chicago or where to stay in Ithaca?

O'Hare - Syracuse direct flight is your best bet, then rent a car from Syracuse. It's an hour drive.
I decided to splurge for my interview and stay at the Statler because parking sucks and I wanted to remove any sort of variable that could make me late.
That said the Best Western University in is really close to campus. I've never stayed there before, so I can't vouch for the actual rooms.

I suggest you just take a bus. I took a Greyhound bus from 42St. Times Square Station. Roundtrip cost me around $80 back in September.
I booked an AirBnB and paid $90 bucks for a night.
Took the TCAT (bus system of Ithaca) to get around. I believe it was a couple of dollars for a whole day pass.
