Hi there,

Congrats on the improved score! Yes, you should definitely reach out to the schools and provide your updated score. There's no guarantee that they will consider it but I would say it's highly likely at this stage of the process since the deadline was just last week. You can just email the general admissions inbox and also be sure to send the official score through GMAC. You can always call the admissions offices as well to make sure they received your update.

Good luck!

Best,
Melody

I hope they'll still consider it too. UCLA replied and updated my scores with the following response:

Thank you for your email. I have updated your application to include these new test scores. Please note that I am unable to guarantee that the committee will consider the new scores in their evaluation as we do not accept updates once an application has been submitted. This will be at the committee’s discretion.

I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers!

Nice work! You did everything you could. Now you just have to hope that they make an exception in this case.

Fingers crossed for you!

Hi there,
I second the congrats on the improved score- sometimes the best way is to send to the schools directly and then follow up with a call to each school and if you get a sympathetic person in the records room- they might be able to upload the information- at least if you send the email the school has the knowledge that the score is better- which is all you can control. You can control which schools will look at it or not- I think most schools discourage saying they will look at updates because if they did everyone would send in more updates and it would overwhelm their operations.... but on a case by case basis for a higher GMAT score they might in fact still look at it even if they say they are not going to. So I see no harm in at least having the info sent to them. What I have noticed in general- is that the higher ranked the program is-- and likely the higher the application volume-- the less less likely a school will be willing to take updated info because again it would overwhelm their systems if everyone did this. Other programs with lower application volumes can more easily honor such requests. Good luck!
