GMAT Club has been the best forum I have joined till date.It has given me so much! Thanks a lot for that. I hope this forum helps me further in getting admitted to one of my dream b-schools!!!
So here is where I am : 730 Q50 and V38
Well IR : 8
AWA : 4
So heres my back-ground:
Female, Engineer, NON-IT, Indian, 23 years old
Under grad GPA : 9.1 (scale of 10)
Overall good academic performance.Consistently great mathematics.
I am in Automobile(Commercial vehicles) sales (as Deputy Manager) since two years and would have slightly less than 3 years by matriculation.I might spend the next year in Brand management.
Leadership experience:
In college,I was part of a small team that developed and ran an in-campus enterprise (food,travel desk,laundry etc.) for a year.During which span we handled head to toe of the whole business: Managing vendors,accounting, reducing tat for all services, quality control etc.
Other small-time college event organising experiences.
Work-wise: Handled two dealer operations and sales in a metro (Bangalore)
Others: Good management electives during college.Internship at ABB for 5 months.Certified artist.
Preferred future career: Short term- Corporate Strategy (preferably Automobile sector) , Long Term(say 10 years post MBA) : Enterprenuership
I wish to apply for Class of 2017.
And the wishlist is long and obvious: H/S/W (need say?) and CBS, Kellogg, MIT,Booth.
Where do I have strong chances given my profile?
Too young is it a disadvantage?
Low GMAT score?

Your profile looks good: median or higher GMAT for all your schools, managerial responsibility, and good differentiation/diversity thru the combination of your gender and industry + function (they may never have seen that before!). Holding you back a bit are your age (only because you'll be competing with older applicants who've had time to accomplish more), Indian profile (very common), lack of international exposure, and apparent lack of leadership/impact outside of work. I only mention these question marks because you are aiming so high, but I wouldn't discourage you from taking a shot at all these schools this year--you may well have a shot, especially in that there may be an opportunity now for you to address the extracurricular leadership issue and you may also have a powerful/interesting 'personal story'.

I ll definitely address that extracurricular leadership issue this year.May be further active engagement in NGOs where I am a generally a passive member should boost that up a bit!
Lack of international exposure , hmm I ve travelled around asia and middle-east but only on leisure.Well, I am not sure what I can do improve it ....
Age and nationality are simply out of my hands
