no, the kudos button is available to anyone now. We have made this change after I received four messages in one day about the same question :)

So, I hear you, and if you have any other suggestions, just PM

BB, I have 2 questions:

1) When I give kudos to somebody, do my kudos get transferred to them? As in does mine get reduced by '1'?
2) Suppose I get 25/50 kudos, do I still need to have a 90 day membership?

1) No - your kudos are yours, you can give as many as you would like to
2) No. However, we verify kudos before granting test access

WOW, getting 50 kudos for me is like scoring a 800 on the GMAT!

Yes, this is a bit dated system, from back when multiple Kudos were awarded by moderators - a few folks received 50 right away for a few posts but those were crazy times. Today you can post 50 semi-useful posts that somebody will notice or you can post 1 FANTASTIC POST that 50 people feel is valuable

Someone can give you Kudos. Nobody can take them away (except Dzyubam that is if some of them were awarded by mistake)

You have to receive 50 Kudos in order to get Free access to the Tests. If you give 50 Kudos to others you won't get Free access to Tests.

Even now, There are people who do not know about kudos;
so, I suggest that we add a button on home page or Forum that introduces the Kudos Button to all.
(I tell it from my own experience )
and ... a picture of kudos!!!
don't forget to consider kudos 4 me

Hi All - Read this post and contributed something at kudos-what-are-they-and-why-we-have-them-94812-20.html

You can have a look and tell if it applies here....

Interesting read - I never read this entire thread except the heading until now.....
Would like to add one point -
You should not take away Kudos because it was the mistake of the person who gave Kudos and others are misguided by them....

ok - If you really want to do so - You need to show :
How many Kudos have the Kudo-Giver removed ?
How many Kudos has the Kudo-Receiver lost ?
Again there is so much debate on this question - At the time of giving Kudos, the person may not have much knowledge....After say 10 or 20 or 30 days, s/he understands a better way and feels that the Kudos are not deserved by that person..Now do you want the Kudos to be removed just because of lack of understanding ?
I can say the Kudos has allowed the Kudo-Giver to apply the correct and wrong approach and find the potential FLAW.....This quest was helped by that 1st post...

Committing mistakes is not wrong...It gives you an opportunity to find all the wrong ways of finding a solution....The important point is that you should learn from your mistakes and not repeat them....
This was something I read somewhere that strikes a chord within me at work. I think it is "Edison"

GC is a learning club for sharing GMAT knowledge and Kudos are a way to promote this sharing sense...
