Hi bb

At present the only option available to redeem kudos seems to access gmatclub tests.
Is my interpretation correct?

WR,
Arpit.

Hi. You can redeem Kudos for GMAT Club Tests or GMAT Club Apps

i didn't hear about GMAT Club Apps redemption by kudos, would you please elaborate it ?

I have made a typo in my message and corrected it as to what type of app it is. You should be able to figure out the rest.

My take on Kudos:

During self prep mode, we all search for the best answer explanation
for a given problem in minimum time frame. Best way to reach to this
goal earlier to simply select sort by kudos. For me the post with highest kudos
resonated with maximum understanding of that particular post by students seeking for explanation.
This works similar to GMATclub timer in which difficulty level is graded as per students utilizing the timer
and getting answer correct / incorrect.
I would strongly urge members to give kudos for every post they found useful since it not only motivates
ones who has taken out his / her valuable time to help you, but also it shows higher %tage of understanding leading
one to less search down more posts.

Kudos is an intangible way to say " Thank you dear this post helped me" I believe when ever a post helps you do smash  the kudos button. This helps the moral and pushes someone more harder towards mutual contribution of a good GMAT score.

 If you found this helpful, then you know what you have to do. Cheer!

I am thrilled to announce that now you can see the source of Kudos (who gave it to you and for which posts)
(you must be logged in to see this information)

There are 2 ways to see this information: click on your profile button while browsing forum. That's this button:

or just go to this URL: http://gmatclub.com/static/kudos-details/

P.S. You can also see other people's Kudos

I didn't know that points stop coming after 99 coz the next level requires 16 more kudos. I think its not fair. Though I am putting in time and effort in using the forum and looking for opportunities to help others.
Some how Kudos have become very hard to get. Its demotivating sometimes.

Hi. I am stuck at 99 kudos and Intern profile.
I read that if i want to go to further stages, I have to get 1 point and 10 kudos. I already have fulfilled those requirements.
Also, whenever I fill up, update anything to receive a point lets say "School", my points dont increase.

Please a moderator look at my profile and guide me what to do.

Regards,

I can understand exactly what you are going through because me too did the same thing to increase the points. However, I learnt that if you need 1 point and many kudos your points won't increase until you get the necessary kudos. In my case I am at 99 points and 8 kudos to go. I added debrief and did many things but points wont increase because I need 8 kudos. This I think is not fair.

What are Kudos? Kudos are a reflection of quality of contributions at GMATClub as perceived by GMATClub members.
Kudos can be awarded by anyone to anyone and are used to show appreciation, gratitude, or indication of value.
Kudos are awarded to both a post and a poster. (You must be logged in to see/give kudos)

What can I use Kudos for?

  • You can use Kudos to find the best posts on GMAT Club - we publish lists of the posts with most Kudos here: Top Forum Posts.
  • You can also Sort by Kudos in each forum and find the highest ranked discussions or even highest ranked posts within each thread (they are highlighted by green and yellow colors)
  • You can also give Kudos to others - when you click a +1 button to award Kudos, the receiver gets a notification about your award. It works much better than posting a short line saying "Thanks"
  • You can use Kudos to get access to the GMAT Club tests. If you have 25 kudos, you can get full access to the gmat club tests for 3 months. Once you hit this milestone milestones, please visit this page: http://gmatclub.com/tests-beta/redeem-kudos.html
  • You can use Kudos to get a free copy of the GMAT ToolKit iPhone/iPad app
  • Why Give Kudos?
  • We identify the Top 10 members every month based on Kudos and publish the listing here.

Interpreting Kudos

Near each post, you will see the following information:
Attachment:
Kudos.png

How to get more Kudos?

How to check who and for what posts gave you Kudos?

There are 2 ways to see this information:
1) Click on the Kudos tab in My Profile area
2) Go to this URL: http://gmatclub.com/static/kudos-details/ and type in your username

Attachment:
2015-03-16_2134.png

- Kudos are collected when somebody clicks +1 button. If you benefit from somebody's post, do click +1, which will increase that score, both for the user and for the post.
- Only positive Kudos can be given.
- You can give only one Kudos point to a single post. After you give that point, there is no way to withdraw it or award another one. The +1 button will be removed from the posts you have awarded Kudos.
- Kudos given are usually displayed with a delay of approximately 10 minutes due to caching.
- Kudos inflation and cheating is punished by banning
- One user can only give 5 Kudos to another user
- You get free 5 Kudos by filling out your school/applicant profile and information
- We have started giving Kudos for sharing posts on FB and Twitter

If you have suggestions or comments about the Kudos system, please do not hesitate to PM me. Thank you.

bb How much time does it take to access a course after redemption? Ex:I redeemed 200 points to get empower gmat course

I feel you. I am just a beginner and I wanted to buy the gmatclub's tests so I started answering the questions on forum but it is really difficult to get kudos. For me, even 25 kudos seems a tough milestone let alone 100 as in your case.
