imo answer should be D

what is the meaning of the sentence-

Shakespeare's Othello has inspired two plays- the new play and the play that took place earlier.

Only D conveys the above meaning.

Like the play that came before it - MODIFIER- should be placed close to the new play because we are talking about a similarity between the two plays - both plays are inspired by Othello.

Hence, I can see two mistakes-
Misplaced modifier
Meaning
in the original option.

This question has to do with a dangling modifier and a comparison. What is being compared in this sentence? The old play and the new play.
