I am yet to take my GMAT, for which reason I am undecided about applying for Round 2 or 3....
In my IELTS I managed to score 7,5 with only 1,5 days of prep., so with that in mind I am quite please. I am, however, thinking of retaking it....most likely I will choose to focus on my GMAT.
My profile is as follows:
- 23 years old
- Danish
- Undergraduate in Engineering within business and development
- Currently I am pursuing a master degree in MSc. in Engineering that combines a more strategic and business focused approach with a more hardcore technology specialisation...the end result is a hybrid hehe..
My GPA is decent 3,5...could be better (this is only for the undergraduate though)...I am yet to receive grades on my master.
Besides this I hold two internships, one was very intense (one-month period) and the other is a 1-year part-time position, where my official title is trainee.
I have moderate to extensive extra-curricular activities; including humanitarian work, to president of a fraternity, and more...
So, just the like rest of you out there thinking of applying for LBS MiM, I have no real idea of my chances of getting shortlisted for an interview.
Currently, I am battling with myself whether to apply for Round 2 or 3, as the length of Round 3 is quite long and as the decision is quite late in the spring. I will, however, have more time to improve my application if I choose to wait.
For me, it all comes down to how I do on my GMAT, which I will take three days prior to the Round 2 deadline, as I have three projects that I must complete and hand-in at my university before January 7.th. Hence, these projects are my first priority…
Regarding your question about the internship, I personally do not think that LBS has preferences regarding the industry or the size of the company. Though, it is always advisable to have an internship within a company that is world-known, as they usually have certain and quite tough requirements. That being said, the emphasis should be on the learning experience that you gained from your internship. This experience should be highlighted in your essays if possible.
Cheers..!
