Here I am. Got an email saying somethings in the mail for me and will include scholarship info if any. Will check that out and then decide on going.

So I got admitted in R2. As I understood from the past discussions, all the R2 admits will receive the admission binders 1 week/2 weeks from the decision notification day. This packet is supposed to contain the official admission letter along with the scholarship info. Can any R1 admits confirm this information?

Also, I have a few more questions. Appreciate any inputs -
1. Whats the orientation day for the international students?
2. When is the course supposed to begin?
3. How are the fee payments supposed to be made for USC? Is it semester by semester or year by year? Any information on this please?

thanks!

My understanding is that courses begin in May and fees are paid by semester. I could be wrong. Maybe call the admissions office or email the mba address?

Congratulations!

For people planning to attend USC, where are you planning to live?

I already live in LA, have been for six years. Happy to provide neighborhood recommendations for any out-of-towners.

That would be fantastic. I'm a Californian who's been back East for almost 6 years. LA has CHANGED!

You should bring this convo to the Facebook group as well.

I was actually disappointed by the West side and more so with Anderson itself so will likely be matriculating at Marshall. I've heard a lot of good things about Silver Lake and Los Feliz. Any thoughts on that pair and commuting to SC?

I've come to rely so heavily on public transit living on the East Coast that I'd also consider areas closer to SC/grad housing and using public transit?? Am I crazy? Any thoughts Angelinos? I'll defer to you all!

Silver Lake and Los Feliz are good bets. Los Feliz is nicer, but more expensive and a little farther away. Not sure about public transport, I drive everywhere.

I currently live in Studio City and love it, but it is a little far from USC. Might relocate.

Looks like you're still waiting on LA. Are you set on SC?

I made that decision last week and am trying my best not to look back on it.

Are you familiar with the parking situation at SC? Is it the norm for bschool students to commute?

It's bizarre but after being born and raised on car centered transport, I'm actually struggling in figuring out how to return to it after my stint on the East Coast.

Fellow applicants,

I would like you to know that we have a new forum for MBA debriefs where admitted members can share their admission experience.

I request the admitted students to spare some time and post their admission experience in the forum and help the other applicants. Applicants could discuss with the admitted students to learn from their experiences.

Here is the forum link: https://gmatclub.com/forum/share-your-application-experience-332/

Cheers,

I am still waiting to hear from UCLA. I enjoyed my class visit to USC more though, the Trojans really have a great energy. They seem happy to be there.

I think most students commute. Marshall has its own parking garage next to the University.

Hey everyone,

Anyone get a binder yet? Someone in the other forum living in LA said they got theirs - wondering when us East Coasters can expect it.

Also - when does orientation / class officially start? I saw one calendar that showed August 22nd though I've been hearing from current students Marshall starts up in July. Can anyone confirm that?

Cheers!
