Hi,
I have a school teaching experience of 9 years after M.Tech. I am interested in pursuing executive MBA from a top B-school in India. Would like to seek suggestions on what kind of job profile would be apt for me and if teaching experience is a deterrent in getting a placement. TIA
Hi
chhavi04WHile I see that teaching experience is not a deterrent, it definitely constrains your chances as your experience may not be considered apt for management position by recruiters.
Now, the reasons that you have thought of to justify your cross-functional career transition, will only be the basis for you to advocate your place in management positions.
So you shouldn't think averse as of now and consider going forward with your application. But since your comment doesn't have a lot of input about the type of subject that you have been associated and also the company that you have been associated so it's difficult to comment on your possibility of absorption even in class of MBA at good school. Exploring options is your right and you must exercise it if it appeals to you and convinces you enough.
All the best!
By the way have you taken GMAT?
WHich schools are you targetting?
The answers to these question will further help me comment on your question.
