There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
The process of paying fees after a URL is received, again submitting transcripts, and also the ambiguity regarding GMAT scores is kinda confusing and tedious! Never mind, it's done now. I confirmed with GIAC that they have received my GMAT score. I'll just wait for the URL, then. Upto 2 business days. :-/
The response I got from UT-GIAC states that once your application is on file after submission (which will take some time), the scores should automatically reflect as 'updated' on the system. You can confirm with them if they have received your test scores.

Just got the same response. They confirmed that they had received the scores, and said that if it didn't update in few dates, I should inform them. Process doesn't seem well automated.
I just submitted my application and realized that I haven't put in my extra curricular activities anywhere. Is it just me or does McCombs not have a section for extras?
Sorry man.. No word yet... McCombs's adcom told me that I would be notified once they review my request for waiver... FWIW this was their reply..
The MBA Admissions staff will let you know about your TOEFL waiver once they review your file. You should hear something within the next few days. We show your application fee has been paid, and your transcripts should show up on the status page soon.
Thanks,
McCombs Admissions Committee

Hey Mac,
I'm in the same boat. Any word on your application?

dude.. there is no section for activities in the McCombs application. This is unique.
I tried to include most of them in my resume, and one or two in my essays.
On second thought, I feel I could have added some of those in the optional essay as well.
Looks like one of my recommenders just submitted his reco (around one hour after the deadline). Just wanted to know your thoughts on whether the school would be fine with this?
Should I drop them an email to consider my app for R1? I am a reapplicant and had submitted my application yesterday itself!

Your application would be considered in R1. I read it on an admissions blog of McCombs that they allow a window of 1 - 2 days for recommendations after the deadlines.
I need to pay the fee. But the system asks for a Master Card, Discover or American Express Card. All my cards are VISA. Anyone knows any alternate way to pay the fee. I'm in India, so can't use the e-cheque option.
I see my "MyStatus" page and it shows "TOEFL score report pending" under "required" tab.
My transcript clearly says that the education was in English, and I had ticked the same while submitting the form as well.
I paid the $175 fees, and they also have received my GMAT score. So TOEFL is the only thing keeping my application from completion.

I think I've got the whole thing confused... The TOEFL waiver is apparently given by the school and not the GIAC... So I guess we'll be hearing anything only once they start reviewing the applications.. Which probably started only on the 17th.. So I would still give it some time..

"If you request a TOEFL or IELTS waiver, you may see these scores listed as an outstanding requirement in your online status check, as your waiver status is not updated instantaneously. Our admissions team will contact you directly during the admissions process if your waiver is not approved and you need to submit an English language proficiency test score."
