Hi,
A family friend is a former admissions committee member for Anderson. She told me that the 70th percentile for Quant is their cut off, anything lower and they have to petition why the applicant should get it. She mentioned she assumed 70th percentile is pretty standard for top schools. Does anyone have any insight into this. She implied that 670-680 would be ok if the quant score was high.

She is right. A score below Q48 may be considered low at top schools. MBA programs involve a lot of quantitative coursework, and a relatively low quant score can be a cause of concern. An overall score of 670-680 too may not be very high, though (apart from the quant factor), at least for the top 20.

One should aim to reach around the median score of the target school. So, if one is targeting top schools, 720-730 is a competitive score.
As far as split is concerned, yes most schools are more particular about Quant. You can find more on this here:
