After having talked to many alum, I've walked away realizing that top tier schools such as LBS and Insead will all have the resources, peers, and events that help you get the interview and prep for cases. How you perform on the cases is all about you. I honestly believe both school will help you get to strategy consulting if that is your goal. I've heard they also look at your GMAT - and you have a 740, so you're fine. If you are new to consulting, perhaps it's better to get the extended time to understand the consulting culture, work with LBS Impact Consulting club on a sample project, intern at a smaller strategy consulting firm like LEK or OC&C, or Google, corporate strategy, which will strengthen your profile for a full-time interview.
Also, my understanding is that for a global city like London, prior geographic experience isn't too big of an issue. However, if you're looking to do consulting in a regional market that requires language fluency, then it obviously matters. This is information I have gathered from alums, so it is probably relatively accurate. If you wanted to double check, go on Linkedin and filter LBS grads from 2013 to 2015, location London, firm, and check out each person's profile. Obviously the Linkedin profile won't tell you directly where they are from, but it's the best data you will get. Cheers!
