[u]Here is my suggestion =>
For verbal => Go for E-gmat
For Quant =>But a course only if you lack discipline.Else i do not recommend buying anything for quant.

Gmat-Club is more than sufficient for Quant.
Follow Bunuel on the forum.
Solve the questions he posts each and every day.

Use the GMAT-club tags.

To proceed make sure you download the GMAT-club math book.

Hi Andy,

You asked about whether you should consider taking another Kaplan course as you plan your studies. Kaplan has added several new features to our courses in the past 8 years, like options for Live Online courses and our GMAT Channel, which features live sessions offered nearly every day of the week to drill deeper in particular topics and question types. If you’re still wondering whether this is a study option you should consider, I invite you to join us for one of our free preview classes. We have two such events next week, and you can find the upcoming schedule at this link: https://www.kaptest.com/gmat/enroll?tab=events

If you have any specific questions about Kaplan, feel free to ask or send me a private message. I’m happy to help!

Best,
Jennifer Kindy

Hi andyvly,

Three months should be good enough to achieve your target score. I would recommend you to take a GMAT a practice test. You can know your weaknesses and work on them. If you are willing to study dedicatedly for that period, you are sure to achieve your goal.

For verbal, I would highly encourage you to consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market.

You can also try out the MGMAT guides they are phenomenal and cover the entire syllabus really well (Quant and Verbal). I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them. Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have a good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

Lastly I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of OG and the verbal review for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.

Hope this helps. All the best.

So far I have 2 prep courses lining up. For Q, i want to go with MathRev and for V, I want to use e-gmat. How should I start these process? Should I finish V then start Q or do it alternately? I am very good in math and horrible in V. Also, is this a good combination for GMAT prep or should I take the whole course with Kaplan or Ver instead?
It's generally not a good idea to do just verbal or just quant. Take a test to figure out where you currently are, and perhaps focus on one of the sections, but don't let go of the other one completely.

Hi Guys,
First timer posting and new user on GMAT club. I am hoping anyone can give me some suggestions. I had GMAT long time ago (8 years) scored 620 after having prep course with Kaplan (Q49, V??? but horrible for sure). I am assuming lot of big changes since then. Now I want to re-start the GMAT. I am targeting around 700 and start school by Fall 2018.

Little about myself. I have a full time job, a wife, a 5 years old boy, another one on the way and my parents under the same ceiling. I figure I am unable to do 8 hrs study each day; 2-3 hours in weekday and 4-6 hours in weekend are doable. No test date being setup yet.

I would like to get opinions from the communities so that I can reach my 700.

Thank,
Andy

Yes you are right. A lot has changed notably the introduction of the Integrated Reasoning section in 2012.

Since you have done the GMAT 8 years ago, that score is already invalid. Scores are only valid for 5 years. The good news is that you did great in the Q section. I would suggest that you take a free GMAT prep CAT to gauge what level you are on. You can remind yourself of the reasoning behind data sufficiency questions since those are unique to the GMAT. With that said, take the whole test in one go and study your results. Maybe you need only a refresher course for the Q. When you get a baseline score you can then plan to reach 700.

If you maintained the same score, I suggest that 6 - 8 weeks is enough to get to 700 provided you study 1 hour every day. and 3-4 on weekends. E gmat and Empower GMAT are both great to boost your verbal scores.

Good luck with your preparation!

Hi

As your Quant is already in right direction, so lets talk about verbal
Verbal is something boring on GMAT, too boring yeh
Good Material for Verbal is

CR: CR critical reasoning Bible
SC: Manhattan GMAT SC Guide
RC: Manhattan/Aristotle Guide

Start with quant, learn the concepts tested on GMAT
After learning, practice your learned section with times practice
You can also take quizzes to meet the pace of GMAT

1 Month for learning concepts and 15 days of practice and same with the verbal
when completed all the concepts learning and handsome practice
Take full lenght CATs, know your estimated score

Analyze the result with Correct/incorrect questions, pacing analysis
trace your mistakes and learn from them, make an error log to know
your mistakes in the previously attempted questions

For Online Course E-GMAT is a good for verbal
you can also consider Magoosh because i am Impressed by
Micke of Magoosh, he is truly know each and everything
And also Rich of EmpowerGMAT

Best CATs

1. Official GMAC (50+50$)
2. Manhattan GMAT (49$)
3. GMAT Club Quant CATs (80$)

I figure I am unable to do 8 hrs study each day; 2-3 hours in weekday and
4-6 hours in weekend are doable. No test date being setup yet.

You truly have no need to study 8 Hours/day
3 Hours/day is good Strategy

Good Luck

Hi andyvly,

Given your weakness in verbal, we would highly recommend that you take a look at GMAT Pill: https://www.gmatpill.com/testimonials

While we believe our quant tackles multiple angles of the same type of math question you will see -- our verbal has really resonated well with students seeing the most improvement in a short amount of time.

If you have not seen the Practice Pill Platform, take a look at https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-test/ - Questions are free to look at and there are some sample videos. But a membership would be required for the expert video explanations. For an example of one, take a look at: https://www.gmatpill.com/sentencecorrect ... ythons.mp4

and for CR: https://www.gmatpill.com/criticalreasoni ... Estate.mp4

If you have any questions, just holler over.
