In other people’s experience does the official mock 1 over score, or under score people on the quant section?

Country Y has been threatening the existence of its neighbor, Country X, by performing military operations against it. The leaders of Country X claim that military service must be made obligatory so that national security is guaranteed in the face of threats from Country Y or any other nation. It has been proven that a strong military front must be backed by a sturdy economy. Obligatory military service will lead to the recruitment of engineers, researchers, administrators and other personnel, weakening the economy. Although the army will be smaller in number, obligatory service should be avoided as this way Country X will have a stronger economy and, therefore, a better defense against Country Y.

In the argument, the two portions in boldface play which of the following roles?

A. The first is a prediction that forms a basis for the main position of the argument; the second is further evidence supporting this position.

B. The first is an explanation in support of the argument's conclusion; the second is that conclusion.

C. The first is a statement that opposes the conclusion presented by the argument; the second weighs against this opposition.

D. The first is a possible scenario used as a basis for the reasoning of the argument's favored position; the second counters this reasoning.

E. The first presents the result and an action supported by the position of the argument; the second is that position.

The law does not mandate the wearing of protective gear while riding a bicycle, skateboard or any other unmotorized vehicle. Last year, however, thousands of injuries could have been prevented by the wearing of even just a helmet. Therefore, anyone using an unmotorized vehicle should wear a helmet.

Which of the following, if true, casts the most doubt on the argument's conclusion?

A. Concussion is a very dangerous injury that can result in a variety of medical problems.

B. Although a law has not been formed, many cyclists and skateboarders do wear protective gear out of their own wish to stay safe.

C. It has been proven that helmets restrict vision especially of objects that are at the side or behind the person wearing one.

D. The market for protective gear is expanding rapidly.

E. New materials are being used to create helmets that are lighter and more comfortable than ever.

Hello everybody!
Started my GMAT prep 6 weeks ago. First official mock: 370, strong in Verbal but very weak in Quant/Data (worth noting: that first mock (370) was during a stressful period: I was juggling university exams at the same time and getting little sleep, so it probably doesn’t fully reflect my baseline, also because I have good foundations in maths).
After 6 weeks following the GMAT Ninja study plan, I took an unofficial GMAT Club mock and got 525 (Q78, V79, D71, so DI is clearly my weak point).
Today I took a GRE mock (Magoosh) out of curiosity and got 305.
I’m set to take the official exam in early October to apply for Round 1 at top Finance business schools. Does it make sense to switch from GMAT to GRE at this point, given I’d have about 6 weeks left before the exam?

Exam is not the only parameter, what is your profile better suited for and what you wish to go towards matters. Ive had friends who got in with decent gre scores. Scoring 305 on GRE is almost the same as your 525 on the GMAT according to me. Focus better on why you wish to take the exam, if I were you I would not switch exams especially 1.5 months prior to the date, best case try and appear for both if you feel you can do well but rather not switch. And if you wish to prepare for GRE only rely on gregmat for the next 6 weeks blindly. Gregmat was immensely helpful in bringing my gre scores up and has been helpful for all my gre taking friends.
Hope this helps happy to discuss more
Cheers

I would not switch too, especially because I already bought all the material to prep for the GMAT exame.
I’m sure that I can improve the quant and verbal section (mainly the quant one), but I need to improve also the DI one... I don’t of a good method to solve those questions.

I would recommend choosing test which you were most comfortable with.

GRE 305 is ~50th percentile and GMAT 525 is 34th percentile.

Quote:

My profile
10th CBSE =89%
12th RBSE=81%
Btech, Mechanical (CTAE/raj gov college) =67%
Passout in 2019
3 yr prepare for ESE Gate Barc
Clear Barc written 2 times
Gate rank 179 in XE
2022-2023 BARC training school as trainee Scientific Officer
2023-2026 as scientist officer

Completed M.tech in fusion science and technology from HBNI with job =71%

So 3 yr + 1yr at Barc =4yr workex

Eligible for Isb and iimA pgpx

My question is how much Gmat FE score is needed with this profile??
675 is the median of ISB.

I would suggest you to score as much as possible in test preferably more than average. To show your academic readiness because your undergrad and postgrad % was low..
