Anu,

Take the GMAT in Oct, and apply in R2. You should be fine. Set up an appointment and talk to us if you have more concerns.

Best,
Karthik

Hi friends !

I am going to apply for MBA programs in US ( Fall-2016) in October mid.
I have already taken gmat once (630), but want to improve my score. Somehow I am unable to take GMAT in sep-15
So taking gmat in first week of Oct and then apply. Will it to much of rush?

I have drafted my SOP,LOR(reviewed) and shortlisted schools ( 630-650 range schools). I need to work on essays, which will definitely take some time.
But I can see many discussion that if we don't apply in first round it will be too late  ?

Can you please provide me your suggestions? What should be my approach to maximize my chances of getting admitted.
Currently, I have no time because of GMAT studies. Please help me :'( feeling panicked :(

Regards
Anu

Anu,

A well presented application is always better than a hastily compiled app. The latter will only earn you a reject. Relax and take your GMAT!

You have done a lot of the groundwork already. After your GMAT, you will still have time to apply to some b-schools between mid Oct-Nov; a lot of them have their deadlines then. You can always get help on your applications to expedite the process,

And then there is R2- it does not minimize your chances of an admit in any way.

All the best for your GMAT, and do update on the result.

As they say, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. So getting your application perfected should be Priority #1. This means devoted full attention to your GMAT and then not rushing through your application.

The January Round is a perfectly fine time to apply. Focus less on the submission date and more on the quality of the execution and you will be fine. I myself was an April Round individual when I applied for my MBA--I focused on the execution of my application and crafting my narrative for the interview, and it turned out very well for me.

Hi Anu,

I completely agree with the above posts here. A strong application improves your chances of getting admitted to a B-School rather than rushing up and hastily compiled application. Take your time and apply in Round 2. I agree with the fact that you never get a second chance for making a first impression. So give your best and apply in Round 2.
