I've been admitted to both OMBA programs for Michigan Ross and CMU Tepper.
I'm having difficulty deciding between the brand/network vs. curriculum/format.
Michigan Ross is clearly the stronger brand and alumni network, however I believe I'd enjoy the Tepper curriculum more. Tepper has much stronger elective options for OMBAs particularly on the quant side - which is my primary interest. Additionally the program seems more conducive to developing real connections (6 access weekends/year vs. 3 in person residencies for the whole program at Ross as well as Tepper having a greater number of synchronous class sessions).
I'm pursuing an OMBA because I'm happy where I'm currently at (FP&A Mgr @ Airgas), but would like to continue climbing the ladder. I don't know where in the US I'll eventually end up, which is why brand/network is a concern of mine.
Cost really isn't a factor - after scholarship Tepper is $5k cheaper.
I appreciate any insight people may have!

Have you laid this out to your boss?
Tepper will require more time away from work due to the synchronous classes.
Which program does your boss think would help you advance in your company?

I've discussed it with my VP and his take was that it depends where I want to end up geographically. I'm in Philadelphia now, so CMU/Tepper is fairly strong out here as well as the rest of the east coast. Whereas Michigan/Ross is a much stronger brand if I want to move anywhere west.
At this point in my career I'm not really sure where I want to ultimately land, so having a stronger brand/network would be a plus.
For both programs the synchronous classes are in the evenings, so no extra time off from work. There will be more time off for Tepper because of the access weekends, however it's six times a year where I have to take a Friday off - more than covered by my current vacation allotment.
