Congrats to all who have received interview invites today! I did not, but am trying to stay optimistic. I am happy for those who did.

I wish that rejections also came in waves. Sure it would sting, but at least we wouldn't have to worry and could move on with our other schools/plans

I am kinda feeling like if I go through not getting an invite enough times the ding won't hurt so much in the end. I think of it as conditioning myself for disappointment. LOL.

Although..we usually have more than one person with an invite so maybe more will go out today...also not seeing much of anything on livewire.

I am thinking that I am going to be waitlisted without interview for Round 1 due to my grades....

Odd that we haven't heard from anyone else - not sure what to make of that. I re-read the e-mail 100 times just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating!

East Coast/Education Management.
I submitted the day of the deadline, and the interview Q's the Sunday before the Monday deadline.

Thanks for the support, guys! It seems like this was just a round of invites with less volume, so I wouldn't get discouraged!

Unless people are simply not reporting their status, it seems as though the volume of invites sent for the first two rounds was very light.

Yeah I agree...it seems like the wave today especially was very light...which means good news for us that there are a lot more left to come...except now we've gotta wait another week..

I think its possible the applicant pool is just very high. Lots of people see the Yale brand name and apply, and unlike Dartmouth its not in rural New Hampshire. They most likely invite people that check all the boxes (gmat, gpa, work experience, essays, recs, etc.) first, and then they bring in other people they like to fill the back end of the class later or once they've had a chance to sell the school on their top recruits.

Hmm maybe. I think they’ll release more in the upcoming waves. I think Yale is more than it’s brand name now. I think it used to be small and social impact oriented a few years back and as a result pretty behind in the rankings. I do think in the last few years they have caught up the general trends and are now aggressively trying to be more like the top 5. Good for them, but it makes it harder for applicants with backgrounds that SOM would have taken in a heartbeat a few years back.
