Hey bb, Happy to share what ended up working for me. Here was the structure I used for my Tuck WL essay, which got me off the WL much quicker than Kellogg.

I approached the essay by aiming to prove that Tuck was my number one choice and that I would be a contributor to the community. I mentioned specific conversations I had with Tuckies (naming them), I mentioned how I attended one of Tuck’s tech conferences, I also briefly explained how my work experience would bring a unique perspective to the classroom. I also wrote which organizations I would plan to contribute to (naming Tuckies who I had spoken with and were leaders of the clubs). Lastly, I explicitly said that Tuck was my number one choice and I enthusiastically accepted a spot on the waitlist.

Last year there were updates around R2 decision

did anyone convert?

I had mailed them, they said WL decisions are rolling and not tied to round deadlines per se

so WL decisions could come before on or after round deadlines

FYI - some insider feedback about Waitlists from a former adcom... there is nothing you can do to influence the WL... that came as a shocker waitlisted-now-what-insider-adcom-perspective-on-how-waitlists-work-410212.html

any movement on waitlist? I am a R1 waitlist and as an international application need to apply for i20/visa but haven’t heard anything yet

Any waitlisted candidates heard back? I am still on the waitlist so I am wondering how long I should wait. Is there a last date for Kellogg in terms of when they will send us acceptances/denial? Or will they keep folks on the waitlist till mid/late August? I think Wharton had a deadline of 28th July by which they were going to send out a yes/no decision. Not sure if Kellogg has something similar...

Hi - Was anyone able to attend the information session for waitlisted candidates tonight (19/12/23)? Wanted to get an overview of the conversation/any important pointers since I was unable to attend the same.

yes, basically they want important updates only and would mostly see the updates somewhere in feb until then their focus would be on holidays and round 2
