Ⓐ Electricity at first began coming into houses through direct current because of safety issues created by the high voltage of alternating current, but

Ⓒ Because electricity came into houses through direct current, since the high voltage of alternating current created safety issues,
Ⓓ At first, electricity came into houses through direct current because the high voltage of alternating current created safety issues, but
Ⓔ While electricity came into houses through direct current, the high voltage of alternating current creating safety issues, but
when you first observe based on the bolded words in the options there is probably a sentence construction issue and parallelism "but" is a parallelism marker
we also notice "at first" bouncing around in two of the options- probably a word modifier issue
in option E we do not need to use both "while" and "but" it created redundancy and meaning issue
in option C- it states that "because electricity came into houses through DC, the transformers safely lowered the voltage-
this is an illogical cause-effect pair
option B- electricity "coming"........., but transformers safely lowered
safely lowered and coming are not parallel to each other
option A- same issue as B- "began coming" vs safely lowered"
therefore option D is correct
