Hi

I am an Indian national. I have 4+ years of experience in management consulting in data sciences and analytics. I have worked with many fortune 500 clients during my tenure. I recently took GMAT and have scored 750. I am now unsure of which colleges I should apply to and how should I start researching on them. My inherent interest is in consulting industry and I intend to make a career in the same.

I had completed B.Tech in ECE from IP University, Delhi with 70% aggregate. My HSC and SSC scores are average and below average respectively. I do not have any volunteering experience. However, I do maintain a couple of blogs with write ups on both abstract and pop topics (not enough readership though).

I have following questions -
1. How (if at all) can I strengthen my profile now?
2. Which are the best colleges I can apply to that suit my skill-set?
3. Should I apply to all in the first round or should I test water first?
4. Will it be useful to apply next year?

Given MBA is a non-STEM course, and my only source of financing will be education loan, I am a bit paranoid about the H1B visa availability as well..

Thank you

Hello hiteshtrivedi

Your concerns are genuine. This is what I would recommend-
Make a list of schools that are good in consulting.
List them down in an order of whether they match your credentials, exceed your credentials or are lower than your credentials. By credentials I mean all the factors mentioned here.
You can further classify these in Dream, Reach and Scholarship Schools.
Then you can also eliminate certain schools based on personal preferences (say City or fee or placements etc- there can be N no. of criteria for your personally)
Your should be able to arrive at a list of ~10 schools if you do this, since you will not be targeting schools that are way high or way low for your credentials. (Remember Dream, Reach and Scholarship)
Now look at their respective deadlines and application requirements. You could potentially then divide it between R 1 & R2 (although R1 is preferable for Indian applicants)
I know very little about you (apart from the few 'stats' you have shared) so while this generic approach could work for you, for a more personalized advice, feel free to reach out
