The GMAT Club Guide to The-Official Guide-for GMAT Review 2016th Edition



The Official Guide is a great resource - it has real GMAT questions, all questions are arranged in order of difficulty, good explanations, etc but it has one major flaw - no way to sample specific questions or ability to target a specific area - for example all CR questions with idioms or all DS questions that deal with geometry. This Guide attempts to correct that flaw (and a little bit more), making Official Guide even better.

Use this guide to:
  • Find details about every question available in the-Official Guide for GMAT Review
  • Help find specific practice questions and build your custom practice tests that focus on your weak areas
  • Understand difficulty of each question (it is not very linear as you will notice). We have split difficulty into 4 groups (easy, medium, hard, and very hard). This split is based on the percentile of the question difficulty as determined by GMAT Club Timer sessions
  • Explanations are linked to each question for easy reference
  • You can find previous OG 12, 13, 14, and 15 versions here
  • MGMAT Navigator is another/similar tool available from MGMAT

Hi bb

Under PS Tab, questions 51 to 65 are incorrectly tagged. They belong to DS. Please correct and re-upload the file. I had reported the same issue earlier on the post "Official Guide Quant GMAT Review 2016 Directory". But looks like it has not been fixed yet.

Thank you. Yes, we still have an issue in the OG directory in the quant forum it seems. I have updated the file here. Welcome any other feedback!

Thank you for your feedback.

PS-108 on the forum has different options (from older OG) than in the OG 2016, but the answer (11) is the same.

Thank you! It seems GMAC has a number of questions with the same setup/question text but different answer choices, which is interesting in the CR, especially. Why would they do that to questions that have previously been vetted on the actual test?

I have updated the spreadsheet for now. However, we will also create new discussions for OG 2016 specifically with slightly different OA's

Hello,

Thank you for this useful tool.
I have some issues using it though... It seems that the spreadsheet links directly to "'\Users\Bogdan\Desktop\GMAT CLUB\2008\Projects\Guide to the OG\[Copy of GMAT Club Guide to the Official Guide 13th v7.xls]Error Log'!$C$6:$G$813" in the pivot table ("Analysis") and thus it doesn't really work.
Aside from this, the error log doesn't seem to include reading comprehension questions? Or maybe I overlooked...

Thanks for the helpful resource! I have created a google docs version of the spreadsheet that some of you might also find helpful:

GMAT Club Guide to the Official Guide 2016 - Google Docs Version

MA = my answer
1 = 1st repeat
2 = 2nd repeat

(eliminates need for separate error log)

I have also shortened the links (format / text wrapping / clip) to maximize available screen space and added a column called "Lessons Learned?", among other edits (most of them cosmetic).

Thanks a lot for this, this is great. Does anyone else get an error when trying to refresh the analysis pivot table? Any easy method to fix?

Thanks for the great guide!

Only thing that seems to be missing is the Reading Comprehension tab.

There is a tab titled CR+RC, but only the CR questions are featured.

Are you able to repost with RC questions?

The pivot table does not work when trying to refresh the analysis pivot table. Any easy method to fix?.
However it is very useful. Great Work.
This would be extra helpful if it was done with the 2016 OG Quant and Verbal guide as well.
