Since the spotlight is 5 feet from one wall and 10 feet from another wall,
which is at right angles, the distance from the intersection of the two walls
can be calculated using the Pythogoras theorem

\(x^2 = 5^2 + 10^2\)
\(x^2 = 25 + 100 = 125\)
x = \(\sqrt{125} = 5\sqrt{5}\)

Therefore, the distance between the intersection of the walls and the spotlight is \(5\sqrt{5}\) (Option C)

We can use the Pythagorean theorem, where c is the distance of the spotlight from the intersection of the two walls, and create the following equation:

5^2 + 10^2 = c^2

25 + 100 = c^2

125 = c^2

c = √125 = √25 x √5 = 5√5

Answer: C
