A certain town’s pizza shop initiated an advertising campaign to bring in new customers and increase sales in December. The advertising campaign consisted of sending emails that promoted a two-for-one deal on sheet pizzas. Even though the pizza shop sent out thousands of these email advertisements, sales remained about the same in December as they had been in previous months.

Which of the following, if true, most helps to explain the apparent discrepancy between the volume of advertisements and the volume of sales?

(A) The emails did not list every type of pizza on the pizza shop’s menu.

(B) In December, a new coffee shop opened in the same neighborhood as the pizza shop.

(C) Not every resident in the pizza shop’s delivery area had an email address.

(D) The pizza shop had email addresses only for customers who were members of its rewards club, which offers members weekly specials.

(E) The other two pizza shops in town specialize in gourmet pizzas, which are more expensive on average than items on this pizza shop’s menu.

A team of pediatricians recently announced that dogs are more likely to bite children under age 13 than any other age group. Their finding was based on a study showing that the majority of all dog bites requiring medical attention involved children under 13. The study also found that the dogs most likely to bite are German shepherds, males, and non-neutered dogs.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the pediatricians' conclusion that dogs are more likely to bite children under age 13 than any other age group?

(A) More than half of dog bites not requiring medical attention, which exceed the number requiring such attention, involve people aged 13 and older.

(B) The majority of dog bites resulting in the death of the bitten person involve people aged 65 and older.

(C) Many serious dog bites affecting children under age 13 are inflicted by female dogs, neutered dogs, and dogs that are not German shepherds.

(D) Most dog bites of children under age 13 that require medical attention are far less serious than they initially appear.

(E) Most parents can learn to treat dog bites effectively if they avail themselves of a small amount of medical information.

A food truck earns a profit of $7 for each smoothie it sells and $2 for each cookie it sells. Yesterday, the truck sold only smoothies and cookies, for a total of 150 items. Was the truck’s profit from these sales more than $650?

(1) Smoothies accounted for less than half of the items sold yesterday.

(2) At least 83 of the items sold yesterday were cookies.

A logistics coordinator planned a delivery route for a truck. Before the route was driven, she estimated the distance the truck would travel and the amount of fuel it would use, and from those estimates she calculated an estimated fuel efficiency in kilometers per liter. After the route was completed, the actual fuel efficiency was calculated from the actual distance driven and the actual amount of fuel used. Did the estimated fuel efficiency differ from the actual fuel efficiency by at most 20% of the actual fuel efficiency?

(1) The estimated distance differed from the actual distance by at most 20% of the actual distance, and the estimated fuel use differed from the actual fuel use by at most 20% of the actual fuel use.

(2) The coordinator overestimated the distance by 100 kilometers and underestimated the fuel use by 10 liters.

Rohan's Plushie Emporium sells exactly two types of teddy bear: grizzly bears and polar bears. Last month, Rohan sold 80 teddy bears for a total of €2,800. (A) €35
(B) €40
(C) €50
(D) €60
(E) €65

Committee member: Last week, committee members were encouraged to nominate candidates for the position of committee chairperson. So far, seven members have submitted nominations. That means we can expect contentious lead-up to the election. After all, such contention always occurs before an election whenever there are more than three candidates for any elected position.

Which of the following would be most useful to know in order to evaluate the likelihood of the committee member’s prediction?

(A) Whether any of the nominated members are known for arguing frequently with other members

(B) Whether a candidate can be nominated by more than one committee member

(C) Whether any more nominations for chairperson will be made

(D) Whether members were allowed to nominate themselves for chairperson

(E) Whether there has ever been contention before an election with only two candidates

Корkе: In the past ten years, most of the new clothes that I have purchased have fallen apart within a few short years. However, all of the clothes that I have purchased at vintage clothing shops are still in excellent condition, despite the fact that they were all over thirty years old at the time that I bought them. Clearly, clothes are not manufactured as well today as they were when those vintage clothes were made.

Which of the following is a weakness in the argument above?

(A) It fails to demonstrate that the clothes manufactured thirty years ago were of higher quality than clothes of all other eras.

(B) It neglects the possibility that the clothes of thirty years ago, when prices are adjusted for inflation, cost more than clothes manufactured today.

(C) It confuses the number of clothing items sold with the proportion of those items that are no longer useful.

(D) It does not explain why clothing manufacturing standards have fallen over time.

(E) It fails to take into account clothes made over thirty years ago that are no longer fit for sale.

If Lena, Marco, and Oliver took turns paddling a canoe for the entire 1,120-meter route from East Dock to Pine Landing, with exactly one person paddling at a time, who paddled the greatest distance?

(1) Lena paddled 2 hours longer than Marco, and their average (arithmetic mean) speeds were 70 meters per hour and 50 meters per hour, respectively.
(2) Oliver paddled for 10 hours at an average (arithmetic mean) speed of 50 meters per hour.

Hey Madhav, I took a trial from them (for Quant) and it genuinely seemed useful.
But yea, can't comment further yet.
