DS Question 1 - Sep 23 If ’x’ is even, is x^a + y^b = odd 1) y is not a multiple of 2 2) ’a’ and ’b’ are positive odd integers Source: Others | Difficulty: Medium
1) If y is not a multiple of two, y can either be some odd integer, or some fraction. If y is some fraction, the sum is neither odd nor even. If y is some odd integer, b is some integer, and a is some integer, then the sum will be even. Ins.
2) If a and b are positive integers, there is still no information on y. If y is some fraction, then the sum may or may not be an integer
3) Although we know that x^a is some even integer, we have no idea if y^b is integer or fraction. Which means we cannot determine if the sum will be a fraction or integer.

Has anyone used GMAT point and checked their daily tests. If so how did you find their quant questions when compared to the actual GMAT or GMAT OG questions. Would like to know your opinion.

q2 means q*2?

or is it square

Answer is 20
Subtract both equations

q2 - r2 + pr - PQ = 0
(q-r)(q+r) -p(q-r) = 0
(q-r)(q+r-p) = 0
Since r isn not equal to q
q+r-p has to be 0
Means p = q+r (1)

Also
p2+q2+r2 = p2 +20 -pr -pq
= p2 + 20 -p(q+r)
From (1)
= p2 + 20 -p2 = 20

Assuming q2 is q^2

By subtracting both equations we get p=q+r

By adding both equations
we get q2+r2+pq+pr=20
q2+r2+p(q+r)=20

We know q+r =p

So equation will be
q2+r2+p2=20

Hence the answer

Use y=mx+c
(X,Y) is first point, m is -3
Find c and then plus another point in equation
